hey there folks!

glad to finally introduce myself and to give you a little rundown of my 240sx and the things i plan to do with it, things i plan to fix, and any little details along the way i should point out. Now that i've said that, lets talk about the car...

Image

So i bought my '93 240sx around summer 2011 with hope that it would be well worth the price. At only 1150 bucks, hey i figured why not!. Of course with such a low number, you eventually run into trouble -_____- . Most of my trouble came from the previous owner not giving the car any attention. When we talked about the car and the sale, he simply said "it runs....." without telling me all the other details about it. I should've listened to Krash14's post about buying tips for a convertible, but i was too late :/

The cars body is in decent shape. Has some scratches in the paint and some rust on the floor panels. I plan to fix the paint and to freshen up the inside when i have some cash, but the looks were the least of my worries. I was more worried about how she ran.

The motor started, had a little bit of a shake to it (bad motor mounts? bad ignition timing?) and was only running on 3 cylinders instead of 4 (i checked it out by pulling spark plug wire #4 and noticed nothing whether you had it plugged in or not), so I guess the car needs some TLC and then some.

So i bought the car, hoping to fix the madness that the previous owner had left me :( . I drove it home with a huge lack of power (one cylinder makes such a difference!!!!) and managed to make it home with alot of headspins and alot of ricers begging to race. I laughed at the fact people really thought this car was a beast. I got so carried away from all the hype i was getting that i drove it around a few days and ended up making the car WORSE. I drove too hard into a neighborhood and managed to understeer straight into the curb. It broke my tension control rod, my tie-rod, and a little bit of my lower control arm.

I learned my lesson after buying a 240. NEVER drive recklessly on local streets, keep it in a parking lot or something( a very empty parking lot!). It was fun to get my car to pull a few 180's and the occassional drift, but crashing just flat out SUCKS. So i really plan to stick to casual driving, but upgrades are a MUST!

just a lil list of things i want....
-LOWER THE WHIP
-a new set of rims and tires (ive got yokohama 205/45 R16's right now)
-transmission swap (no more automatics please -_____-)
-POWER!!!! (turbo perhaps?)
-paintjob on car and rims

ill leave this post with just a few more pics and call it a day, i feel like ive left out so much but honestly, i dont expect much feedback besides a few disappointed posts about the abuse i gave this precious vert lol. Feel free to add feedback and help tips with my car troubles and if anyone is in the DC/MD area, i would really like some help from someone who actually owns a 240 and would be willing to help me with some labor.

Ha! I don't feel so bad anymore. I broke my tension rod in the same. Place and bent my tie rod at a 80 degree angle after driving my drivers sides tires head on into a curb at 50mph. That was a fun 6 mile drive home after that. Anyway nice car looks nice and shiny.

Yea thanks. I really dont wanna leave the shiny paintjob even thought its got its share of scratches. Yea lesson learned, 240's arent forgiving when it comes to curbs -_______-

Stupid curbs, they are always out to get us! And street signs too. Its good to know that you will taking care of this car instead of the previous owner. I driven on 3 injectors before and at the worst time, it was during a local nissan meet that my 3rd injector decided to not work so the after cruise with everyone wasnt fun... I too plan on going turbo but Im going small, just a T25 setup.

Also if you still need injectors I can goto my local junkyard and steal a few for you, just cover the shipping

Sounds like an injector issue. Just make sure you're careful pulling and installing them. I think I used some motor oil around the O-rings when I installed. Welcome and good luck!

You can PM, you just have to enable it in your user control panel.

So you need Tension Rod, Tie-rod, and control arm huh. You've caught me on a low point of my 240sx parts scavenging, I don't have any lol. Crazy rays ftw? Try to grab some adjustable tension rods if you can. If you can't, I've got some brand new in teh box Energy Suspension Tension Rod bushings for ya :)

AND SILVER SPRING MAN SILVER SPRING, GOSH. haha, but yea man, still live in the same place.

Hey there folks! Here with a quick update. The car is still stuck in the driveway but i've been surfing all over NICO for those parts that could fix up the vert. At the moment im in need of the following....

All on drivers side....
-Tension Control Rod
-Inner and outer tie rod
-Lower control arm

i could also use...
-spare injectors
-front bumper(my bumper is mixing the bottom half, like someone wanted to cut it for an intercooler)
-rear bumper(mines scratched from a minor bump with a wall)

I also recently bought an aftermarket steering wheel from ebay that looks nice. Except for the fact that it came with the worst steering hub and im trying to figure out what i should do about it. any advice on my steering wheel situation?

I had seen a cheap origin knockoff front and rear bumper for the coupe but now I cant find it. The guy wanted $50 a piece

Many patterns are 6 bolts for hubs, would have to check which one it is. Momo/Sparco are the same along with a lot of others, but there are some others around that are spaced differently.

Here's a picture of the steering wheel i found on ebay. I had the JDM horn with a drift badge but its missing :( i ended up grabbing the hub and installing it in the car and it seems alright for now, still looks kinda like it;ll break soon.

Image

the good news is i finally got my tension rod for the 240 and ive got the rest of my pieces from autozone. Ill have pics once i have everything ready to go.

one last thing....
anyone think that maybe my fuel injector problem might be an electrical issue? i popped off the 4th injector the other day since everyone on the forums mentioned the injector was my reason for lack of a 4th cylinder. the injector seems like it was that bad, a little leaky with fuel when it came off but it didnt seem messed up. Maybe im overthinking things and it might actually be that no fuel is entering the 4th cylinder.

and one last thing again lol....
i have this sudden urge to pull off an HKS exhaust/intake combo with my car (even if it is automatic) and i noticed that enjuku and FRSport have the parts, do you think i should go for that combo or just find a cheaper alternative instead?

You're going to hate that wheel after 2 weeks haha. Do the 5 speed swap before you do anything dude, its definitely the best thing you can do to it.
