We have "code compliance" here in San Antonio. Not cops but if your neighbors don't like your car and it is obviously not in running condition you can get a ticket for having it parked in front of your house or even in your driveway. Not sure how many tickets you get before it gets towed.

So the stereotypical chebby up on blocks with weeds growing around it is a thing of the past. Well, at least they are moved to the back yard.

I hope you plan to at least go make a nuisance of yourself by speaking with the police down at the station. Dont be TOO rude or anything, just act very stupid and ask question after question after question. Wasting people's valuable time is one of the best ways to be obnoxious ;)

VA has similar crap... Zoning Ordinance Violations... basically... you can have a car on jack stands for 60 days... as long as its in running condition. As soon as it becomes "wrecked / junked / undriveable" if someone complains about it you get a notice... and you have 7 days to comply or appeal the notice. According to ordinance, you cannot have a wrecked car in plain sight, it has to be out of sight, i.e. in a garage or behind a privacy fence. It cannot be visible from the street. In VA a Car Cover IS NOT an acceptible way to make it out of sight.

My brother had his wrecked '86 Turbo in my driveway for a month before I got a notice about it. It was tidy and didn't look bad, but when he pulled the suspension off of it, it was no longer "operable", so we really couldn't appeal the notice. I had no interest in appealing it, as it wasn't my car, but it required he and I to strip it in a few days time.

Nosy a$$ neighbors... I feel for ya man. Its not like I throw parties left and right and make a lot of noise... and there was another dude down the street with like 4 junkers in his driveway. I think the same guy that reported me reported him... and now he's always riding by on his bike checking my **** out... I'm guessing trying to find ways to **** me over... he got screwed, so now he wants to screw me... great world we live in huh? Bastards...

dude, that really sucks. honestly, go harass the **** outta the police..i dont think they can take a car without any warning or notice from the owner's place of residence for any reason. id give them a huge bag of **** for it and keep giving it to them until i got a friggin written apology and my car back.

just for the record though, how long was it parked previously?

Call a Lawyer. They know the law much better than any of us do. It's quite possible that what was done was unlawful and you can go to court and see what can be done. Trust me on this, my lawyer has kept me out of jail on 2 separate occasions due to my driving. Most of the time you can just call them up and they'll tell you if you have a chance or not.

i second that!! as nwa said, "fuc.k the police" haha. anyway. i think youve got grounds to take this to court..it just doesnt sound like something that can be lawfully done.

Yeah call a Lawyer.... In my town if someone complains or the police notice a violator on a "routine patrol" (BS).. then you will recieve a notice/letter in the mail. If you don't do something about it within 30 days. you get a ticket... and a court apperance to prove to the judge you did something about it. I dont' think at ANY point they can just run off with your car.... it'd have to sit there a LOOOONNNNGGGG time. I'd call a good lawyer and make a stink.. something smells fishy.

they got my gold one, i had my red beater parked in front of it.

the gold one had the front bumpercover off since i removed my FMIC.

, i can understand the nieghborhood standards things to a point since i kinda live in the outter ghetto. i like how my hoods at least clean and neat down the hill though its nasty as hell. my neighbors do have good reason to be nosey i guess. after all we have a drug distribution center 5 houses from me, . ive been under survielance before ,and had the police over numerous times few years back, and in 2000 i was brough out in cuffs with the entire street being blocked off and cops in yards, pretty embarassing suff. the ones i was cool with understand. but we have a few people that hate us.

I say you find the really old ****er on your street (the one that does nothing but walk all day waiting to die) and make the best domestic violence call the police have ever seen.

Im not crazy im just as pissed off as you at this current moment for my own reasons

Yeah, last time when a noise complaint was called on me, cop was cool, and even told me the name on the complaint... although it wasn't very helpful. Robert Citizen. My guess is he's related to a Concerened Citizen... And possibly even John Q Citizen as well... lol. F00s. At least have the courtesy to walk over and SAY something about **** before you call the cops. The cop was more annoyed noone had talked to me about it before calling than the fact that the call had been made... He said he HATES it when neighbors don't have the balls/courtesy to walk over and say "hey, I think you're being a little too loud, its kinda late, mind toning it down a little?". I mean how hard is that... =(
