I was just wondering if anyone else has heard of this odd phenomenon called the "Pathfinder Lean." Many newer Pathfinders (I've seen it occur from about '97 models on) develop this interesting "lean" to one side, usually the driver's side, after a few years.

I currently own a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder SE, and about a year ago, it suddenly started to lean into one corner of the vehicle. I knew something was wrong, but the dealership told me I was crazy and that the vehicle was in good shape. Later, after the third visit to their repair shop, they discovered that the front strut was leaking, and I had both front struts quickly replaced.

The vehicle can now go over bumps and such more easily, but it still definitely leans on that side of the car more than it should. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone else seen this problem on their Pathfinders? I have personally seen it on at least two more cars, but I'm wondering if anyone has any solutions?

Thanks,Josh

Check your rear suspension bushings they may be going out on one side. but also you may have coil spring problems. when you replace your struts the old coil spring is swapped over to the new strut. the ride height is controled by springs not shock absorbers. if the coil springs ,either front or rear, become weak the end result will be sagging height.

I read somewhere the front left spring may have more weight on it. It was a bulletin from Nissan. Can't remember what the deal was.

If anyone has access look up this TSB from Nissan.

* Repairs shall be conducted on a customer complaint basis ONLY. If a 1996-98 Pathfinder appears to have an uneven ride height when parked on flat surface, the left front spring may be bearing a greater suspension weight than the right front spring. Use this bulletin to diagnose the incident and, if necessary, apply a countermeasure left front spring.

^^^ haha, yeah. But at least NICO helped out Lumberjack to have encouraged 3-total posts out of the guy :P

but to be on topic... I've noticed this on my Qx4 also... it's got me a little concerned.
I just swapped all the suspension too (KYB w/ OME coils)

Measuring, it's about 1/4" lower on the driverside (ie. left side). Should I be worried?!
