so yesterday i went to chinatown SF and found this japanese movie..title is "shuto kousoku trial 5 final battle".....it is a regionless DVD and has english subtitles! anyways look pretty old maybe early nineties....the newest cars is a FD and a R32....it's about this road racers going around and beating other racers ....first race is a coastline style race.....then a downhill touge race....then a freeway race....very simulaur to initial d; during the race, camera views of engine bay and drivers ...etc....

it is pretty cheesy but entertaining....then main character drives a FC in the beginning then later he gets a FD.....keichii is in the movie too....i have seen clips of it on the internet...if any of you have seen the black R32 drifting and it's in slow mo and it looks like a movie opening...that's this movie.....or the two tone mint and grey S13 drifting touge extremely close to the inside cliff ....this movie also.....anyways it looks like the R32 and FD were new cars in this movie, so i am guessing initial D bit the idea for it....well come to think of it initial d has some old school cars too....well who know what came out first.....but it was worth the $13!

It seems to be a series of movies. 90 minutes, live action starring Keiichi Tsuchia.

i have shuto kousoku (insert japanese that i cant read) MAX. Actually the box says Shuot Kousoku, i think its kindof funny that the misprint made it all the way to the box printing process :). its just mindless street races, almost 0 plot, entertaining for a bit though.

yeah like i said it is kinda cheesy but entertaining.......worth the $13 i paid.........the plot is the star is a punk street racer and dori dori tells him that there are street racers and street thugs....he's a thug cuz he is a nuisance to other drivers on the road....oh no i gave up the plot........don't worry your not going to watch this movie for the plot.

it would cost even cheaper if you got the complete series...cost me $45 shipped.... the first movie has the R31 as the main car, second one is R32, third one, saw half way but i've seen a s13 silvia racing a supra mk3 down the mountain.....

That's because Tsuchiya was a technical adviser for Initial D...one of the reasons why they'd appear so similar
