I didn't see one of these around, so I thought I would start one. Lets keep it clean and simple.

This is not a thread to argue which candidate is better or what not, just simply to see where the nico population will be voting between the 2, or not at all.

Once again, NO ARGUING/BASHING. A simple post saying you have voted to bump the thread would be great so it stays at the top.

Lets get it started!

Good call Darren! I'll leave the decision up to Hash, but perhaps we should make this a sticky?

As GrilledCheese requested, lets keep this thread to a simple vote and perhaps a one or two sentence response as to why you chose whomever you chose. Please DO NOT use this thread to argue or bash the opposing party... we have the entire rest of the forum for that.

I'll admit that McCain isn't my favorite republican, but I think he better represents what I want the President to be than Obama does.. So i'm voting for old John.

+1 for a sticky

I would lean to the right except for Palin and the fact that maybe not being in Washington too long might be a good thing. If there were ever a chance for the Democrats to take control now is the time.

My candidate is not listed. There should at least be an option for "Other"

Absolutely correct. No third party, write-in or "None of the above" option listed.

Again we are treated to the "Democrats and Republicans are the only people who exist" mentality that the two major parties have indoctrinated and brainwashed too many people into. To the OP, GrilledCheese 33, I would recommend that you educate yourself to the thread at the top of this political forum that will introduce you to 49 other political parties here in the United States. It will introduce you to other candidates who will be on the Presidential ballot.

The voter rolls of independent and third party members in some states is approaching the number of Republican voters in those states. The Democrats have enjoyed a growth through the reistration efforts of that party and the interest during the primary season. Votes for third party candidates are becoming more in play as the two major parties continue their partisan bickering and stagnation.

Oh quit with the drama! I'm fairly certain the OP didn't intend to snub your third party candidate just to insult you.

I opened the poll so that you can add your own choice.

We'll delete any "funny" or non-serious additions to the poll.. This is one time that I won't allow Jesda's Pants to be on a poll. Every other time, I'm cool with it... but let's keep this one serious.

Why don't you let the OP speak for him/herself? Was it ignorance, intentional, or just plain oversight?

Absolutely nowhere in my post was an insult even insinuated, so don't even go there, Eikon.

Seriously.. quit with the drama. There is no need for it.

I never accused you of insulting anyone. I did accuse you of being overdramatic. My assumption is that the OP made an oversight in excluding 3rd party candidates. I'm certain he didn't intend to propetuate the two-party exclusionary mentality that you are accusing him of.

If you want to argue this... start a new thread! It's a great topic to discuss!! But not in this thread please.

Could this be the first poll without Jesda's pants winning?

Holy take everything seriously batman! Not in any way was I trying to offend anyone. I was actually very surprised to read your post. I am fully aware of 3rd party tickets but did not take the time to include them. I thought about it, but I just wanted to keep it simple since most people are interested in the big 2. Don't get butt-hurt, the pole is open, so add who you wish. Keep them serious though

Keep the votes coming guys!

And thanks for the sticky Hash

I heard in the news that Obama wants to spend money to fix the nation. If I could ask him how he will do that when the country has no money I would. I think Obama is another liar, bigger than that old guy right now. Plus social security is a huge issue that everyone is ignoring right now. I think McCain will take care of that.

I did like Obama because of his energy and because hes a minority. BUT, can we learn from the super bowl. What I mean is, the Patriots were going to be the first to be 19-0 team. What happened? They lost. We as Americans should learn from Americas Game (Football) and vote for an old man, he has some one that has the potential to be the a first. For instance, if McCain were to die of some complication due to old age, a WOMAN would be come the president. If we want a first lets act chivalrous for a moment and let a woman go first. I mean where are our manners, ladies first.

Look I am not for republicans or democrats. I am American Independent. But McCain is safest choice here, please, from the bottom of my heart, from the bottom of a Marine Combat Veterans heart, go with McCain. (If it were Clinton I would say Clinton, we all know she ran the show anyways, when not let her do it for 16 years altogether [including the first 8 years]).

Aside from this, I hope the choices that are and will be made do not lead to what happened in the early 1900s. The world does not need that right now.

Wow. Do you say that about everyone who doesn't agree with you?

I don't suck. I'm pretty sure the person who posted above you doesn't suck. The guy who started the thread certainly doesn't suck.

Where are the people who suck? And why is it that they suck?

i never vote; it's all bulls***. one way or another the government will do what it wants to whenever it wants to and have noone to answer to unless everyone takes a month off work and protests. which they can't.

typical democrat... you want all the freedom in the world but can't take it when you have to deal with others' freedoms, not to mention what you have to do to enjoy those freedoms.

course.. republicans are the same.

to me it doesn't matter who's in office as long as common sense dicatates the uses of power... like how most mechanics are. heh.. i say that because we have to use trial/error... common sense to figure stuff out.

so... VOTE MECHANIC!

heh.. i don't vote also because in certain cases the electoral vote can supercede the popular vote. which is effed up to say in the least.

Quite an EMO outlook you have there. No fight left in the dog eh? Oh well, I am sure obama will enjoy spreading your wealth around.
