The car looks awesome. I'm loving my first Nissan, a 2007 Versa SL, and after checking the Rogue out on the Nissan website all I want to do is buy it. Big fan of current Nissan styling.

Who else wants a Rogue and why?

I am right there with you! I have been looking at all of the crossover SUV's because I like the features they offer with me having two dogs and hopefully children in the next few years. So far, the front runner was the RAV4, until I heard about the Rogue. Now I am waiting to check it out. I actually didn't like the RAV until I drove it, but even then, being a tall woman, the front was a little cramped. I have loved the Murano for a long time, but it is simply out of my price range, so I was exicted to learn about the Rogue, which has similar styling.

Anyhow, my husband has an 06 Pathfinder and loves it, so we are looking to give Nissan another go. But, there is the usual bummer that I won't really know if I like it until I drive it!

I don't know about the Rogue, but the Murano has A LOT of head room. Shaq probably drives a Murano. I hope the Rogue is similar.

I too want a Nissan Rogue...or at least want to know as much about it as possible. I had actually ordered a Nissan Versa and just last week (after 3 months of waiting) found out that it was never available and if I want that specific car I have to wait until the 2008's come out. Then I found out about the Rogue...maybe everything happens for a reason. Everything that I didn't like about the Versa seems fixed in the Rogue, seats fold flat, optional leather. It cost more but I think its worth it.

The Rogue is currently the definite front-runner to replace my '02 Liberty by the end of the year. Does anyone have any idea when Nissan will release the final specs/pricing for the Rogue?

I want to see what it'll cost with all the bells and whistles and I am also curious what the fuel economy will be for the AWD model. I also really want to test drive this to see what the CVT transmission feels like, but that'll have to wait until the Fall when the cars start popping up at the dealers.

Current Nissan models have the following mpg:murano 19/24altima 26/34sentra 29/36

Rogue is built on the same base as the Sentra, so I would expect it to get better mpg than the larger Murano, but prob not quite as good as the Sentra since that's only FWD and probably lighter than the Rogue.

The UK version of the Rogue (the Nissan Qashqai) gets REALLY good gas mileage, prob because its based on the Versa platform instead. Although I believe it also has less power than the Rogue.

http://www.nissan.co.uk/home/v...en_GB

No matter what the mpg, the Rogue has definitely got to do better than the 16.7 avg mpg that I'm getting from my Liberty now.

For the past two weeks, Nissan has released pricing for diff '08 models on Tuesday, so hopefully the Rogue pricing will show up on nissannews.com tomorrow.

I've seen this info in multiple places on the web.

What I want to know is how much it'll actually cost for a loaded AWD.A starting price is just that, its usually for the bare minimum manual FWD version.

As you add extras, the price can go up quickly!

From what I have read, the pricing should range from the low $20000s to the high $20000s. I am estimating (based on lots of read, but no offical information) that a Rogue will all the options will be around 27000-28000. I guess we will just have to wait and see!

I have been looking forward to the release of the Rogue, to bring out some more competition for the CR-V and RAV-4. I'm good with the exterior, but I think that all-dark gray dash is boring, blah, barring the cool red lighting. It's disappointing for me. I've followed automotive styling since I was a kid, and so often is the case that the manufacturer hits a homerun with the exterior or the interior, but rarely both. I personally think that the Murano is one of those rare exterior/interior great stylings. I truly hope that Nissan has another color interior available for the Rogue, or some different trim options. Sometimes all it takes is a different color to set off a nicely styled dashboard being hidden by a vast field of black. I hope Nissan can pull it off with the Rogue, because there is more competition on the way. VW has the new Tiguan coming. It will be interesting to see what VW does with that.

As an aside, have you seen the Infiniti EX, also due out in the fall. Wow, if they can keep that interior somewhat intact for production, that will be another one of those exterior/interior hits, in my opinion.

I agree that the Rogue's interior is a little too much all-black. Making the radio/temperature center column silver would have broken up the monotony.

I definitely have to disagree on the red lighting. I am not a fan of the red LEDs.

In October we purchased a Subaru Outback and it has red leds on everything. I find it really distracting, especially at night. The radio/temperature controls become a sea of red light and things are much more difficult to read.

Both of us feel that the red LEDs are much harsher on the eyes.My wife is still happy with the car, its just something that will need a bit of getting used to. It is probably something that you usually don't notice about a car until you buy it, since generally you test drive it during daylight hours.

I'm hoping the same is not true for the Rogue and that any red LEDs are kept to a minimum and are not distracting at night. I wish they had nighttime interior shots of these cars so you can see how they'll look when lit up like a Christmas tree.

I agree completely. The Murano is amazing inside and out. But it's price and mpg put it out of consideration for many. I am seriously looking at the Rogue. But as we all know, a dark interior means a hot interior. If they don't have a beige interior option for a med gray or beige exterior, it would be a deal breaker. Everything else it offers on the interior sounds like a home run. Also, I have read review articles that say it looks like the Murano. It hardly looks anything like the Murano exterior. Design details are considerably lacking. I want to know why Nissan dropped the ball on the exterior. Because the Rav4 and the CR-V have no style whatsoever, Nissan could have really won over more import buyers if they put a little more thought into it.

On a side note, Nissan's Versa does not offer a beige interior for a medium gray or beige exterior. Makes no sense whatsoever.

I agree. Red LEDs are horrible. They remind me of the 1980s, and not in a good way! They are visually distracting, and completely unnecessary.

A bit late...but I feel like commenting anyway...

I actually like red for instrument lighting--to an extent. It's a nice change from the same harsh "traffic-light" green that most cars use.But then again, after I drive the '04 Max (with amber interior lighting) the greenish-indigo colors of my '93 is very soothing on the eyes.

Blue is generally the least "invasive" color. It's often used backstage in live productions for crew to read their scripts by, for that reason--they can have ample lighting without it being visible to the audience or interfering with stage lighting. It's also a lot easier on the eyes and does a lot to reduce the strain of staring at a piece of paper for hours. I'm surprised more cars don't use a more pure blue for the same reason. I have a very bright blue LED in place of my dome light, and it's not hard on my eyes at all when I open the door in the mornings (I work all night in a dark office and in winter I leave before the sun is even up).

Great info 02max. Should be interesting to see what the US pricing looks like. Those Hp and Tq ratings are slightly higher than the original 170 and 175 numbers put forward in recent releases.

Any idea when the Canadian dealerships are expecting to see these in stock?

I just spoke to the local dealership and found that they are not expecting them in until Sept.

I assume that's the MSRP and you could prob get it for a little less?

Through work we get the following deal from Nissan (and Infiniti):

Through the Vehicle Purchase Program (VPP), Business Associates pay a pre-negotiated price for a Nissan or Infiniti vehicle: dealer invoice less any applicable incentives, plus delivery fee, plus a destination and handling charge and, if applicable, an advertising assessment fee.

For Business Associates, the VPP price is calculated as follows:D PLAN

* Dealer invoice * Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%) * Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, Infiniti Extended Protection Plan, etc. * Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted * Plus destination and handling charge * Minus applicable incentives * Equals participant's purchase price

When a dealership sells a new vehicle to you at the pre-negotiated price indicated above, it qualifies for a 5 percent delivery fee. For Business Associate companies and their employees and the employee's spouse (D Plan), NNA pays half the fee and the customer pays the other half. Please note that only dealerships in the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska are eligible to participate in the VPP.

So overall I think it works out to a little less than the dealer invoice price.I'm hoping the Rogue won't be excluded from this deal.
