ah what a glorious day. after spending 5 hours messing with my coilovers, i wanted to increase the travel and even them up, one side was a little higher than the other. i get them all perfect with the wheels off, put the wheels back on, and the same side that was higher is still higher. this has me baffled...just like all the oil coming out of one of my coilovers that supposidly are not filled with oil. my front suspension is bent so the caster on the right side is off, something in the rear has to be messed up for the height (maybe just camber adjustment, but they were aligned when i realized the initial height difference). i also noticed a rear suspension piece that looked bent compared to the other side. my brakes work like crap and sound like someone trying to screw a nut onto a bolt covered in sand (i just had them done three times, and still grind). it doesnt sound like jic is going to replace, or even attempt to help me with my coilover that they insist is not broken (still waiting, so im not counting them out just yet).

im struggling to keep gas in my tank becuase i am a student, and having all this happen to you (right after i spent who knows how much on the coilovers and getting them on and aligned) within a few weeks is not entertaining. im waiting for my new transmission i bought to start slipping, or the engine to fall out when i pull away from a red light next. i have no money to fix any of this...joy.

so, i wish i could join all of the other 240 owners in the 'i love my 240sx thread', but for now, im stuck in this one =(

Not to be an ***, but did you not know your suspension was messed up before you bought the coilovers? It seems to me a complete suspension overhaul would have been far more beneficial than buying nice coilovers to use with a screwed up suspension system.

well, i had the coilovers for a while before i put them on..the differences in the rear are a complete mystery, but i am the reason for the front (tho i THOUGHT i had this fixed, it was still bent when i got it back from the shop)

sounds like you got it rough man.. but i hear ya. i have a cooling problem, a water-leak problem, a clutch slave cylinder problem, a starting problem, and brakes that scream when i use them... but i still love my 240 :) i know that all those things i can fix [eventually] so its no reason to hate my car. heres a bit of advice. do like me and make a list of all the problems your car has. then start at the top and fix 'em one by one. im a college student too so i know money's tight, just do the best you can. -- peace

i guess im lucky though i have good job, you have a job? you could always sell drugs and make a quick buck....plenty of crack/coke/potheads here in culpeper if you need some buisness;)

USDM S13 240SX should have came with:1. Manual seatbelts like their Canadian models. We're both in North America, why the stupid change???2. 5-lug wheels like USDM Toyotas of the time had. Even slow old school Camrys had 5-lug wheels!3. White-faced, red-needled gauges...but i guess its just cuz its ghetto....

I'm not even asking for much like a turbo, just some reasonable things.

1: maybe it's soo cold up there most of da time that it drains the battery too much for the electric seatbelt system???

LOL I hat emine too...here is the scoop

April 03-buy 240sxMay 03-head gasket fatalityJune 03-spend 9 hours straight removing the radiator, hoses and thermostat. Replacing thermostat and replacing rad stuff and replace coolant (took em so long..first time and it was a pain)July-do RB20 swap with no problemsAugust/September-clutch goes out. NO biggie, should have been done with the swapSeptember/October-clutch starts slipping. WTF??? Brand ned ****ing clutch!!!!!!!!!!October-Turbo is blown too

So I gave up and it is almost sold

1. Because the US regs require a passive restrain system - either airbags or the silly motor mouse belts.3. I personally dislike white face gauges. Too damn distracting.

1) Cmon, one damned cupholder.2) Stock seats don't slide back far enough3) Seatbelts - I just want manual ones......4) I removed my dead pedal, made a world of difference, they should have made it shorter5) E-brake, why not put it on the other side?6) Gauges aren't bright enough at night, for me at least7) My damned KA's oil pan has an ability to dent under the slightest impact........8) The whole must-raise-engine to remove oil pan issue9) Leaking hatch10) It's dumb, but I really really want a targa option.

Stock seats dont slide back far enough? I'm 6'4 and am plenty comfortable! Where do you want to sit, the backseat? I agree on the oil pan though, that thing is weak!

From one student to another, if you cant afford to put gas in your car, don't buy coilovers.

And the manual seatbelts are awesome up here in Canada!!!Suckers!

I so agree with you on the e-brake thing, can't play with it, it hits my leg :(

I also need a longer steering colum, to bring the wheel closer, but so i can keep SOME clearance (I'm a big guy, its hard to heel-toe :( )

as far as putting gas in my tank...my money situation is fine, its the problems going wrong with my car that are causing me trouble. i havnt gone a week in the last two months without spending money on this car, either to get a problem looked at, or to get one fixed.
