Yeah, there's a sequel in the works. And a 2nd sequel planned eventually. Crysis 2 will supposedly hit consoles as well as the PC.

And unlike Far Cry 2, which has NOTHING AT ALL to do with Far Cry (why the hell did they even call it Far Cry 2?!) Crysis 2 looks to be a "real" sequel.

I started playing Call Of Duty Modern Warfare. I'm thinking about getting the FarCry games and Bioshock, I hear these titles are great!

ya they are, havent played bioshock but far cry games are insane. very similiar in feel and style ro crysis.. but still different.

i'd love to see crytek apply their engine to building a city, instead of jungle islands

That would be awesome, maybe we get some urban fighting done in Crysis 2!

Beat Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, truly a unique gaming experience, now I don't know what to start on next? Maybe pick back up on NFS Most Wanted, Dead Space or Rise Of The Argonauts!

I'm really annoyed. I've waited forever for C.O.R.E. to finally come out (including a missed release date earlier this year) and even though it finally came out tuesday, NO ONE has it in stock. Anywhere.

The fact that it is developed by someone no one has ever heard of, has already missed one release date (with no warning until days AFTER), and is mysteriously absent despite having been announced for a tuesday release does not bode well. Really pisses me off. If you're going to set dates, you need to stick to them. Not a very good way to promote your product. It's kind of like it doesn't even really exist. Either get it on the market or go away. Don't know how the expect to make any money off a product with zero marketing and nebulous street dates.

At least I still have Dr. Mario Express. I just finished level 16 on high speed, so I'm nearly "done" with it, though.

I pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition, Operation Flashpoint:Dragon Rising, and Forza 3 Limited Edition all for the Xbox 360 last week. Still no word on when ARMA II will drop for the 360, but as soon as there is a release date I'll be pre-ordering it as well.

Now I just have to wait patiently until October when the first 2 drop.

Oh and if anyone picks up Wolfenstein for the 360 let us know how it is, I might be putting that on my x-mas list along with GhostBusters.

Just played the demo for the new Batman game... OMG this is quite possibly one of the best games of the year, and yes I got that just from the demo. I am not exactly a Batman Fan Boi but to be outright honest, the fight mechanics are awesome, looks like all the villians are included plus some, and it's written by the guy who wrote the Batman cartoon, and it sounds like the VO work is done by the Batman cartoon actors. This is definately going on my must have list, but if I go out and get this when it comes out the GF will kill me because I just dropped $30 on pre-orders last week.

Funny isn't it? I too have so many games stacked up here that I find myself sitting there for up to fifteen minutes just trying to decide what I should play....pretty sad yes?!

The first Gears was fun, but playing it alone became annoying due to crappy ally AI. Co-op adds a lot more awesome to the game.

The 2nd Gears was a big improvement in a lot of ways, and was playable all the way through alone without becoming tedious or frustrating. Still, co-op is the way to go if you have the option.

ya I hope...

todays games have all the same properties- shotgun, machine gun, and heavy arms,- big bosses, standard soldier minions, and fast paced crawling creatures. - big maps... nice textures, and flashy graphics.

'RAGE' doesnt seem very far out the box...

I really want to play a ground breaking game... There is opportunity if a smart company steps up and creates a Virtual ON, Shogo, Descent style shooter - in fast paced moving environment.

where the player isnt just shooting a weapon but trying to destroy his opponents with different types of energy. * hard to describe but it would be a rock paper scissor game mechanic. either block, shoot, or absorb. each action punishes the other.

the movement would be fast paced and 2 dimenstional on a flat floor, abstract vehicle/mechs slide around and fight one combatant or two at a time.

1/3 intuitive puzzl, 1/3 twitch shooter, abstract visual orgy.

some of REZ

A little Zone of Enders

mixed with shogo

I should design and write a game document for how I would create this game......

grafix wouldnt have to be flashy... as long as it could play well.

how does this sound?

Sounds like fun.

That actually brings to mind one area that modern games really have lost strength: replayability. Most modern games are only replayable for achievements or pointless unlockables. But a game that simply relies on a basic (but well-developed) mechanics premise and doesn't really need anything more than that to provide gameplay can be infinitely replayable. Look at Worms. NEVER gets old. Every game is different. But the game is so simple. It doesn't have a story. It doesn't try to "do" anything beyond offering up a very specific flavor of gameplay.

Something like the game you describe could easily have a "quick play" mode that just tosses you into an arena with some enemies. If it's done well, that could be worthy of countless hours of time-wasting.

BTW, if you like rock-paper-scissors gameplay and strategic combat, you NEED to check out the Fire Emblem games. There are games in the series on the GBA, DS, GCN and Wii. They all play nearly identically, and the graphics are very basic, but the strategy involved in the battles is a lot of fun and uses a rock-paper-scissors weapons triangle (lance>sword>axe>lance).

I'm finding out how right you are about that crappy computer A.I. I just made it into the caverns beneath the mining station and fought this big...thing, I forget what they called it. "Watch out for the Cole train baby!"

after stating that I have too many games for my 360, guess what my dumb butt did. I bought some more, not for the 360 but for my DS.

Now my Nintendo DS owns my soul. I bought and is currently playing Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, Star Fox Command, FF Chronicles Echoes of Time.

....also bought but yet to open Geometry Wars Galaxies, Bangai O.

and to top of the splurge list...I got Too Human for the good ol 360.......for 9.90

quake 3 was endless...

it just felt so right.

that was back in the day when graphics cards were sluggish, so visuals weren't going to sell games.

so they refined the movement and created a sense of speed, with jump pads and really well designed weapons..
