well at 3:45am i get a call that my fright got stabed trying to brake up a fight, i hop in my car and drive as fast as i could for the roads i was driving on.. ran a few red lights but no one was around so it was alright.. by the time i got there another friend brought him to the hospital.. he was blacking out on the way there they said, they just transfered him to another hospital.. the bathroom floor was covered in blood just from the people trying to patch him up... i hope he makes it man.. this sucks... sorry to post this but damn, my night got fugged up in about 2 seconds..

the blacking out is not necessairly a bad thing.. I'm an EMT and Ill tell you that happens to a lot of people just from the stress. It could still be from blood loss but I really doubt it unless he got cut up really bad on some arteries. If the medics got there on time and no organs got hit he'll most likely be okay.

it was on the left side of his body under his armpit about at hart level, it went straight in the side, i dont think it hit any orgens but it did hit an atery, the batroom where he was for a few mins had the floor covered in blood and my friends van was soaked in blood from taking him to the hospital.. i think he is doing better today, but i will find out soon when i go over there...

why do people have to attack the people trying to break up fights. a bunch of my lifegaurd friends got jumped for trying to break up a bar fight, nothing as serious as this but still the same principal.

yup, probably had a pnumohemothorax. basically that means he had a hole that collapses the lung, and then breathing compressions suck in air and blood from the wound. Its a very bad thing if you cant get the lung back in order soon enough, but it can be okay as long as he's getting the oxygen he needs. How long was it before somebody got him on oxygen?

I'm not so sure about the liver wound... thats tougher to diagnose cause it's a solid organ.

The blood on the floor though, was it bright red or a darker maroonish? Unless the blood was out there for a long time, brighter blood is generally from arteries, and darker blood is veinous.

...Just tryin to give you a better idea of what to expect based on what you know. I hope I can help somewhat. There is no reason to pull a damn knife on somebody in a fight. Seriously, what kinda person does that... how can you not care that much- I dont care how mad you are. Damn...

uhmm do you mean HIS left side or the left side when you're lookin at him? People in medicine always describe left and right from the patient's perspective... so if you're talking about that perspective "heart level on his left side" IS his heart... which is, needless to say, very bad-- even if he didnt hit the heart itself there are lots of important veins and arteries there.... I think you mean HIS right side though, since itd have to be a pretty big knife to get to the lung from his left side without hitting the heart.

FRIDAY NIGHT MY FRIEND GOT HIT WITH BRASS KNUCKLES THEY THINK. HE WAS TRYING TO STOP A FIGHT FROM HAPPENING AND TOLD SOME PEOPLE TO LEAVE THE PARTY HE WAS AT. HE WALKED OUTSIDE AND THEY CAUGHT HIM AND ONE OF THEM THREW A PUNCH AND BROKE HIS JAW ON BOTH SIDES. HE HAS 2 PERMANENT METAL PLATES NOW AND HIS JAW IS WIRED SHUT FOR 6 WEEKS.

Holy CR4P!! That sux man.... I've lost a bunch of friends recently to stupid stuff... i hope everything goes well... best of luck to him.. I had to sit in the hospital with my girlfriend for almost a month after a near-fatal car accident, so i know what it is like to be wondering what is going on... She almost lost her arm, but they saved it 15 surgeries, and 30 days later... turns out it was a humorus break that ripped all of the arms internals, except her arteries... that is the only reason why she has her arm today... the body is a weird thing.... but your friend sounds like he'll do ok...

true story, i got involved with one of my friends fight. ended up being me against a kid with brass knuckles and an knife, i was unarmed. we struggled and he stabbed me 3 times. once in the left upper chest which puntured my lung, once in the stomach, and once in the shoulder. had a lot of adrenaline, so i kept fighting him, my brother came to the rescue and knocked him to the ground, i held him in a choke hold and another friend of mine stabbed the kid 3 times with his own knife, it was insane, i was in the hospistal for 4 days with a puncutred lung, luckly the stomach wound wasn't deep. i drove halfway to the hospital but started to black out too, so it's not too bad. punctured lung sucks though.

btw, the reason that me and the kid squared off one on one was because everyone was about to run, and he charged towards my car with a gigantic rock. don't touch the 240! hehe. stupid gangsters.
