Well its been 4 days since the March 8th Bowling Green meet and we need to start thinking about our Summer meet. The 3 months of planning really helped out in getting the Spring meet together. So this pole is to get an idea when the Summer meet will be.We are looking to get the month.(the date will be determined by track schedule.) Please provide feed back also.

BTW: We are looking at having it at the same location as of right now.Bowling Green KY.When should we hold the next great NICO meet

Memorial day weekend in Indianapolis (lots of people in town for the other 'event' that weekend)

We need to have one in Indy, I'm sure Repo will suport me on this one.

We could look into that, but Indy is a bit far north for most of our members.Bowling Green is right in the middle of the East coast. We are hoping to get the large group of FL. people involved in the summer meet.*hint*Skyline*hint*We also are better off not to have it the same day as any other event.;)

I like the idea of Indy, but I would like to know how far it would be to drive there from KY. Moving viol and I are really outsiders in a way and it's ya'lls meet. If ya'll don't think you want to go to Indy..let us know now. I do like doing it that weekend. SD

I'm thoroughly biased...but I think we should keep it in Bowling Green. I'm almost positive I wouldn't be able to make it if it were in Indy <gasp> :pface

Indy is only a 4-hour drive from Bowling Green. Plus, leaving your normal surroundings on trip like this tends to make it more memorable one. I know if the meets were always in my hometown, I don’t think I would appreciate them as much. This past weekend was really billed as a chance to get away from work, family and our daily stresses in life for the people that came from Indy. I don’t care how far the NICO meets are; I am always down for them. The advantage to coming to Indy in May or September is we have two of the biggest parties that involve motor sports. Yeah, I left August out because I prefer open wheel racing. Indy is only 2hrs from Chicago, Louisville and Cinci. You can pull from Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Illinois for people to come. There are plenty of things to do and we have a premier drag strip (Indianapolis Raceway Park) where they hold the NHRA Nationals.

I could see a potential meet in Louisville or Cinci if not Indy. I am not dead set against BG (I tend to like the drive down), but I don’t want the meets to get monotonous where we go to the same place and always do the same things. If lodging is a problem, I am sure that Repoman and I could work things out for anyone that needs billets. Nico meet or not anyone is welcome to stay with us if they are on a road trip.

Very good points Bud!;) One thing that I was looking at was that we did have a bunch of people at the march meet that will have no trouble finding Beech Bend raceway for the next one.Lets get some more feed back from everyone else..Keep it comming people.:thumbup

How about a meet in Cinci.....we have two tracks here also. I woudln't mind having one here, lots of hotels and what not also.

I don't care where we meet though, but I hope its enough time for me to do some little things to my car by then.

im down for where ever! and the sooner the better!! indy souds fun !! lots of people i once knew live there and its like less then two hours from my house!! better then the 5 or so down to BG. cinncy would be really cool too since thats even closer, and ive actually been to cinncy a few times ,and once again know few people from there! what ever the majority says is alright with me ! either way ill plan on comming this time and hopefully have a very fast Ca18 powerd car and hopefully i wont be the only Ca in attendance !! i really wish i could have mad the march meet but the motor was giving me too much trouble how bout getting a road track at this meet and maybe getting a chance at road laps an drifting not just the drag strip !!

I'm also not biased on where we have the meet at. Just don't want to have it in Louisville on our crappy 1/8 mile track. LIke Bud said, it's more memorable when you're out of town.

Cincy!!

Or better yet, Columbus. National Trails is a nice track.

I drove down to BG for this last meet... I ended up logging way over 20 hours of driving time round trip and 1200 miles or something rediculous like that. I'd rather not do it again. It would take a lot to get me back to BG for another meet this summer.

Cincy would be a lot easier for me, and you'd draw a lot more of the OH crowd.

If anyone's interested in organizing something closer to here let me know. I'd be glad to help out.

Cleveland would be nice too.

Bowling Green, KY sounds fine to me. i dunno about the Atlanta Convention seems pretty far for me and the double deuce. i would probably be more inclined to go to KY. middle of the east coast makes more sense. i thought at one point you guys were considering NJ?

There's a sister forum to louisvillestreets.com called http://www.cincinattistreets.com (don't know how to spell cinci) You could start there with recruiting people.

SD, there is no way you and MV are outsiders. Paul was the first NICO member I met in person, and you own the site!

I am all for an Indy meet, not just because it would be local to me, but I think very highly of our race track (IRP) and there are many fun things to do here. Some of them for members 21 and older, but still fun.

I'm fine with BG for the next meet in either June or July, but I dont want to put it off longer than that.

Im up for going anywhere...Bowling Green is fine with me but Id also be up for a change of venue. Its always fun to see someone elses home town and meet new NICO folks who I normally wouldnt meet in KY.

I may even be able to bring out our other two j30's so mayhem don't feel so alone.

it dont matter to me. i'm sure i would be able to go, and i'm sure chris nichols would also be down for cruising up that way somewhere. i agree with the people that said its nice to have changes in scenery and everything, its just that BG is in the middle of everything and i know it would be easier for the farther south people to come here to BG. (SpeedDoctor, etc). but, whatever.

Doesn't matter to me either where we have it. I'd like to go to a new place but I love Bowling Green too! Anywhere is cool with me just as long as it is June or later. I think scheduling anything before June is a little too soon. Memorial Day weekend may be bad for many with other plans already too. I know I'm booked that weekend for driving school and auto-x in Charlotte!! :thumbup

Bowling Green sounds good to me. Its not that far of a drive. Also On the March 8th meet I thought we had the track rented out but there was all kinds of stuff there?

yea it needs to be a few months away from aug. cuz I would not miss the 240 convention for anything. Nico is sponsoring it so I don't think we should mess with that (aug would be too busy with 2 big meets going on).

Also I think Indy on memorial day weekend is a good idea simply because me and (hopefully) SD will be up there for the race anyhow. Most people have the extra day off work so they could drive a little longer to get there and still not miss work. Also another point to consider is that I could put up a few people in my parents place about an hour away, and have a hell of a pre or post meet party at our lake condo up in Indiana. Not to mention I know some pretty good driving roads up there we could all have 'fun' on.

I'll work with Repo man as much as I can from down here to set somthing up.

I know this was mentioned earlier but it's only 2hrs from Chicago, St Louis, Louiville, and a little more from Detroit, most of ohio, and (gasp) Iowa hehe (boy am I glad I don't live out there hehe JK torry).

Plus if I'm gonna drive 16hrs to Bowling Green what's 19hrs to Indianapolis......

Paul,Not to nit pick, but I think St. Louis is more than 2 hours. I am hoping to be in our house by the end of April. If we have the meet in Indy, I will send the wife and dog away. That way, we can put up a lot of people for the night.
