56k beware.

while i'm not a fan of the long dump to the wastegate, i love the overall design.

Very nice, I like the bottom mount design. Whats the clearance like on the S14?

looks good, I just hate bottom mounts. The welds look very nice though, definitly a good job in the fab process. The way he has the runners merge prior to the collector is somthing like what I'm doing also. I can only hope my wleds come out half as good looking as his did. Shame on you Demetrius for putting in a link to FA....heh.

Thats, the sex. The manifold that is. But it is sound performance, so I expect the price to be soundly expensive. Hot work nonetheless. Go KA-T's forever.

Hi, Ivan from Sound Performance / PhatKA-T. Thanx for putting this info up here. I would be happy to answer any questions that people might have about this manifold or this project.

I am glad that demetrius saw my posts on FA and told me about this forum. I will be happy to participate by posting here also.

Thanx. I havent tried the manifold on an S14 yet. I am sure that it will fit even better. As soon as I get either of my S14s out of the body shop, I will give it a try.

Its actually on its way. I have two AEM EMS Honda 1010 boxes and plugs for the initial cars (the S13 in the pictures and my black S14) that I will have to wire up. The plug and play version will be released really soon.

Just wondering why you dont like bottom mounts? For turbo placement on the drivers side, this is the best way to mount it. If somebody would design a turbo with the scrolls in the opposit direction, then a top mount would be best.

Thanx for the props on the welding. There were actually four different people that did welding on that manifold. Wait till you see the production manifold. Those welds will knock your socks off :)

I have been at Sound Performance for going on 5 years now and I have heard people mention that we have a reputation of being expensive. Honestly, I dont think that our prices are much different from the other shops in the area. Our labor rate is on par with the other shops I know of and deal with. We do our best to match internet pricing also. Our Supra turbo kits are priced less then most of the other kits on the market and are WAY more complete.

The only thing that I can think of is that because we do a LOT of work on higher end cars and shy away from the typical Honda stuff that people have the impression that we are expensive. The average invoice for our Supra customers is 15,000 bux with some spending as much as 40,000 plus at one time.

I can promise you that I am doing my best to make a QUALITY turbo kit for the 240 that is priced fairly.

My understanding is that the EMS will work for EITHER. AEM will supply a replacement disk for the distributer to get cam and crank signals that the EMS can use. Everything else is configuarable to what ever sensors you might be using

I am also going bottom mount. WD just has JTB'r syndrome. (Jealous Top Mounter). His turbo melts his master cyl and requires extreme down pipe angles and he resents us.:-)

I had a bottom mount on my Skyline, doing the oil and water lines was always a pain in the a*s. I suppose if built right it would be ok. We'll see I guess.

Ivan, what boost are you running with that engine? I'm interested in your turbo combo.

Had a bottom mount on my 92 s13.

Worked great until the crappy stainless mani cracked at the attachment to the t3 flange...

Ivan, your probibly right on your prices, what im trying to say is 70% of 240 owners are CHEAP. Heck yeah, im one of them too, my s14 ka-t cost me 1200, with wideband 3 inch ex., afc, injectors, and a bunch of other goodies. But its awsome that sound performance is making goodies for our cars. I love your bottom mount setup.

I had the opertunity to try the manifold on an S14 today and here are the results.

Please note that in the third pic, ONLY THE MANIFOLD AND TURBO IS OURS. The fuel rail, wiring, plumbing is not ours nor the quality of work we do
