Early reports indicate that the next Z will be powered by a newly developed 3.0-liter V-6
and a hybrid system with a 3.5-liter gasoline engine, the same setup in the Infiniti M Hybrid.
So.... It's a 300350ZX?

Regardless, I'm stoked they're reviving the 3.0L. I'd almost put money if they do the 3.0L it's gonna be TT. If they're ditching the VQ, what do you think the new engine code will be?

I think I figured out where they got the 3.5L hybrid thought from though.

Well...good with the 6 instead of 4, and hybrid or (TT?) turbodiesel could be interesting in the future when gas is truly scarce...which is not THAT far away.

BUT that rendering is definitely far from attractive IMO, and high cost will certainly be a negative factor for the most of us, so...not so sure I'm all tingly or anything :gotme

I would love it if this was true!!

But as awesome as it would be, the "GT channel" is the same company that said Nissan was reviving the Schassis... So I'll believe them when I see it by a different publisher or I see the car haha.

Yeah, it's ugly. But then again, so is everything else nowadays. It is just a concept rendering though. No way they'll put that on the lot realistically.

....and they said the Z32 didn't look like any other Z's.... lol.

This'll be the first Z that downsizes the engine displacement from its predecessor, no? Not surprising considering the legislation that was passed for fuel efficiency standards. Good ole 'Merican government, relentlessly invading the private sector. /soapbox rant.

At this stage in the game, Nissan has to start thinking more efficiently to remain competitive in today's market - and a heavy hybrid system is not my first inclination. A single variable geometry turbo, direct injection straight-6 would fit the bill nicely - much lighter than a v-6 twin turbo with quad cams. With direct injection, the displacement doesn't need to be as big. Frustrating to see Nissan lagging behind with regard to embracing innovation in their sports car lineup. The R35 doesn't even have direct injection.

Totally agree with you there, it is taking me longer than ever to get used to the new designs and find anything I like about them. The Z32 was definitely different but in a race car way to me, where today's cars are just different IMO.
I agree that the renderings are far from accurate to final design, so hopefully they don't do that funky "S" indent thing with the door and take away the Jetson's Spaceship aspects of the roofline/windshield and MAYBE they have a decent starting point... :gotme

Every concept model seems to be scrapped. Look at the C7, that ugly silver excuse for a Vette was scrapped, and the proper stingray C7 that was revealed recently is amazing!

Nissan wont let ya down. The Z will look good as it always does. I think the next Z will definitely be forced induction. Seems to be the way new cars are headed, the Z is probably aimed that way as well. They wouldnt make the new Z slower with less performance than the 370z. If they're making the new Z a 3.0, its gonna have to be forced induction to beat the 370 in performance.

Hell even the mustang will be available with an eco boost 4 banger
