Did you see that the EVO was the next car on their list that had the track record? I guess it went Zonda, Koenigsegg then the EVO.

what car are you talking about? the keonigsegg has a supercharged 4.7L quad cam V8 that produces 655hp.

I had the hp figure off...oh well.

But it is indeed a Cobra 4.6.

Are you serious to really think they'd go through the expense of creating an all new engine? They just improved on the 4.6...

...of COURSE they aren't going to say the engine is a modified Ford 4.6...go anywhere else on the web and you will be told it is a 4.6.

*EDIT*Found this off another site...(sorry, it wasn't Koenigsegg:rolleyes )Quote »Though the 90-degree V8 engine had ‘humble’ beginnings underneath the Ford Mustang Cobra SVT, Koenigsegg engineers contracted Teksid—the major supplier to the Ferrari Formula One team, to develop a unique light-weight aluminum block and cylinder heads. This was strengthened by combining it with a forged crankshaft developed by the German firm, Gerlach Werke. The use of carbon fiber, titanium and aircraft-specification aluminum made the engine a feat in light-weight terms: it weighs only 240 kilograms.[/quote]All in all...they spent plenty money on the engine. But it still started as a Cobra engine.

the cobra r motor was a bad *** motor though, the actual cobra r motor was about 334 cubic inches or somewhere around there, I can't remember off the top of my head.

the new lightning and GT use a modified version fitted with a supercharger.

I think the new one uses the giant spark plugs like the normal F-150 however, those things are just goofy looking...

(*Off subject...*)

I'm not dissing the 4.6 motor for what it is...I just think Ford could have a more potent engine if it went back to the 5.0...the 4.6 does very good.

they're gonna get a more potent engine by switching to the new 5.4. I'm guessing it's gonna go in the '05 mustang in a natural aspiration form, because ford likes to be modular.

on another sidenote, anyone seen the Murauder VT, they finally made it a bad ***...

They would say it was a ford motor if it was a ford motor i would think, the new lotus elise uses a toyota motor and it is clearly stated on their site.

Only because Lotus is known to be owned (partially, IIRC) by Ford.:)

Actually lotus is owned by a malaysian company called proton :)

I was just reading on the koenigsegg site that they have a "flying mechanic" to service cars

I find it humorous that an Evo 8 beat out a mucielago in the time trial.

once it gets into the realm of uber-car, somebody else usually builds the motor. its like a jet, at that point...a different company for every system.

sweet *** swede, though. is there an amusement park ride somewhere that will take me from 0-60mph in 3.0 seconds? i'd like to know what that feels like.
