So here's the 2007 M6 I picked up this past Tuesday. It came with some crummy chrome rims that I rather despise - wasn't able to get the flaking chrome sanded off as well as I wanted, but the Plastidip at least helps somewhat. 48,000 miles, which is pretty low for a 2007.

Options: HUD, Comfort Access, HD Radio, Satellite Radio

Mods: M logo puddle lights, OBD2 Bluetooth, Black Grille

Plans: Exhaust, CAI, CF parts (maybe hood?), compound (once I get some of the new Menzerna 300 and a Flex buffer), coating (CQuartzUK), rims

So far I love it - a lot.

Sitting next to the 2002 Infiniti Q45 (F50).

LOVE the wheels. They always frightened me because they roll through the auction with a Christmas tree-like display of warning lights and errors, but you have to pay to play.

That 10 is a beast!!!

Looks good!
I've never been a fan of the headlights or the trunk, but I like everything else.

I like those, too.

What are your driving impressions? Do you feel its heft tossing it around, or does it drive smaller than it looks?

It drives MUCH smaller than it looks. On the most aggressive M Drive settings it's on freaking rails. The brakes are absolutely monstrous, which helps too.

I was looking at your garage shot and realized how many tools I need lol. I'm way behind on this homeowner thing.

New shoes! Switched to some BMW 7 series 19" rims instead of the janky 20" aftermarkets that were on it. Rides better, and looks a lot better than flaking chrome. The plastidip stayed on the old ones for all of two weeks.

On the down side, she just spent about a month at the local BMW dealership for warranty work. Oil cooler, driver lumbar support (waiting on parts from Germany for that took FOREVER), and the driver side mirror had to be replaced...

Looks amazing with the new wheels. Those 20s really didn't have the right look for the car.

Just out of curiosity, did BMW give you a loaner while the 6 was in the shop? If so, what did they give you?

BMW only does loaners for BMW warranty work, this was for aftermarket warranty work. Which is kind of obnoxious, since Infiniti gives you a loaner no matter what they're doing, even non-warranty.

Fortunately I still have the Q45, with no intentions of getting rid of it. It's still going to be the DD.

Looks like fun!

Big fan of those mechanically, but styling-wise it's among my least favorite cars in history. Simultaneously generic and overwrought, it's the very worst of Chris Bangle's heresy. The aft view is particularly intolerable.

Then again, I drive a car that's so generic- and restrained-looking it gets mistaken for a 15-year-old Mitsubishi, so my opinion may be invalid. :gapteeth:

I hated his earlier stuff, but it started to grow on me the past few years. I wanted an M5 for the longest, and then transitioned to an M6 as I realized I didn't need another luxury sedan. :D The BMW Films started my love affair with their M cars:

Good Lord this thing is teh sex! Definitely liking the new shoes...though, I do think the right set of deep dish wheels would be excellent on there as well.
