I know this is an altima coupe forum but I thought I'd put this out there incase no one knew that Nissan is putting out the GTR Spec V. The price on this puppy is $100K more than the current GTR. According to Nissan, The Nissan GT-R Spec V is the first factory special edition to come from Nissan Japan. While the GT-R Spec V does not add a whole lot performance-wise to standard GT-R cars, its powerful styling enhancements, weight savings and trick high gear boost controller should ensure every unit will be snapped up by the Nissan devout in Japan.

It IS drop dead sexy though

yeah spec-v is pure sex... but I wish they would of kept the original wheels, I don't like the new ones.

On a side note, the Spec-v is my wallpaper at work and everytime I see it, I shed a tear.

GREAT COLOR!!! (I had a Brickyard 350Z) But the wheels look like dog puke...those are awful...they wouldn;t make an Eclipse look good! I would consider spinners over those....puke puke puke puke

THERE IS NO CLUTCH PEDAL ON THE FLOOR!!

From Cnet review and test drive http://reviews.cnet.com/coupe-....html

As for the transmission, the game's automatic setting is far different than the real car's automatic setting. The GT-R uses a six-speed double-clutch manual transmission. There is no clutch pedal, as the dual clutches are controlled by computer. You can set it for automatic shifting or manual, using the column-mounted paddle shifters. In the game, the car shifts like a sports car, maintaining revs so you can keep power. The real car's automatic mode is designed for economy, rapidly shifting up to sixth gear even when you are only going 25 mph.

Thanks for the link I had no clue that it didn't have a clutch pedal! This GR6 transmission is freakin insane! Wished this was an option on the Zs and ACs

Well Nissan could but replacing the transmission on the GT-R costs 20 000 and each transmission is mated with an engine, so an engine from a wrecked gt-r wont work on your GT-R if you blow your engine.

I think we know why that option isn't on a G or Z or AC.

when you say mated do you mean they weld it on or each transmission has a unique set of teeth that dont let be swapped out

well I'm sure it's some kind of Biometric Authentication equivalence. I'm sure that that all the trannys and engines have the same components but there is some kind of authentication mechanism that without it, would render both item useless, even when they are physically attached.

Genius I say..Genius!

Nope, I am not sure what the deal is but I imagine it has to due with the ECU, at 1600KM you have to bring your GT-R in for a full checkup, and that check up is not cheap, but its to calibrate engine, transmission(regular and racemode), both aliments in standard and in Race mode. This is why some people get GT-R's with a bit more power.
