Well I picked up a new daily driver on Friday. It is a '04 Saturn Redline Vue with a 250hp 3.5L AWD V6 that is actually the Honda motor used in the Pilots and Odysseys. I like it quite a bit and hopefully it won't give me as much trouble as my beater Civic Anyhow here are some pics:
Thanks guys and that 1/4 time is prolly relatively accurate cause the Vue isn't terribly heavy and puts out decent power: 3631lbs curb weight. I haven't seen any real numbers for it though from other Vue owners.
Great motor in that thing.Where is this church/school/religious compound in the background?? Ive seen another Louisville guy with the same backdrop. (MAybe it was pics of your Spec V??)
Looks nice.. I love the redline so much more than the regular Vue.. my aunt and uncle have one and it looks SO much better with better front end and the 18in rims.....
I think the Saturns have gotten much nicer over time IMO. I like the Vue quite a bit.
And 04 is the first year that the Honda motor is in it actually.
Oh and the Saturn logo on the fron is a little large yes heh.
And I will continue on with my other projects. Well the Stanza and Spec at least however the Stanza is on the back burner until I get the Spec finished to how I like it. But I wouldn;t mind having it at least running before AutoX season next year cause I have nothing to race until I get it running.

The craziest thing that I have found about the Redline Vue is its handling. On a 200ft skidpad it held a .81g whereas the new Pontiac GTO holds .80. Small difference but I found that to be mindboggling. IMO GM needs to pull the GTO from the line up or do some serious rethinking of it.

don't confuse handling and skidpads numbers as being related.
a WRX has really low skidpad numbers... does that mean it doesn't handle? Nope. means it doesn't hold on a 200-500' radius circle without stepping out. Plus, tyres play a HUGE roll in high skidpad numbers.

OK so shouldn't the GTO still post better numbers considering it has:A) A lower stance(more than likely less body roll)B) BETTER tires(wider and softer compound)
Also according to the August 2004 Motortrend the GTO ran the slalom at 63.5 MPH while the Vue beat it out once again with 64.0 MPH. Granted the weather conditions for each test could have been different it still should not have been that close.
No big deal I didn't realize the Saturn outdid the GTO on the skidpad or in the slalom so that surprises me but a lot of mags have been dissappointed with the GTO.
Anyhow I think I may have decided on some new wheels for the Vue. They will be either 19s or 20s and the centers will be painted Onyx Black to match the exterior and the lip will remain polished. I like them cause they look similar to the HREs I want.
