Dang, it really is a fad these days. As for the Venza, I rather like the profile view. Wagons are criminally under-appreciated in the US, with SUVs being the more 'hip' alternative. Right now, someone in the US wanting a mid-size wagon is limited to 'premium' models, like overpriced Volvo's (with poor reliability) or even more overpriced BMW or Mercedes Benz wagons. The Mazda6 wagon is coming back this year, however.
The Venza just looks like a wagon interpretation of the Camry, and I think it could be a hit. The old Camry/Accord/Taurus wagons just looked like some pieces were fitted to the sedans without much worry about overall design fluidity. This reminds me of a more grown-up version of the old Lexus IS300 SportCross, a nifty little (emphasis on little) wagon in its day - it just needs a new name. How about a mash-up of Camry and Wagon, like 'Camgon' or 'Wagry'. Okay, maybe not those, but something other than Venza.
