Yea, my digital camera sucks in the dark. Im using McKinney mounts, and omg was it evey a ***** to get the motor in. It took 3 hours. Its way to big, I bent my radiator core support getting in, and then had to pull it right back out a little because we didnt indent the firewall enough or something and we just could not get it to sit on both the mounts. Its held up by a jack now, didnt get the transmission brace on yet. Now I gotta get to wiring... =(

wiring is the fun part I think mine will go in fairly easy.... no one told me i looked it up but is it true you gotta indent the firewall to clear the area by the starter?

Lookin good. Keep us updated.

I put mine in from the top as well. Just got to be really careful about the Rad support.

Yes, it is absolutely nessesary to indent the firewall when using McKinney mounts. That was my problem, I indented the wall too low and when the starter hit the firewall it angled the motor so you couldnt line up both mounts.

Ive done the 1-5 part of the wiring steps, but I havent got around to exchanging the knock sensor and oil sendings plugs from the RB to the KA lower... or pluged anything up to the engine at all lol.

Hey Night, can you take a pic for me of where I need to indent at? I also made a write of the whole lower harness swap. Look at the top of RB thanks bro.-Alex

Looks good, but will the intake clear the hood?

I was always under the impression that with the McKinney mounts the motor would clear the hood without removing any bracing, but I dont know if that the case with mine or not. It doesnt seem like its closing now, but I dont have any fender on the car or any bolts connecting the back of the hood to the car.

Ill have to see about those pics, I doubt I can squeeze a camera in there... but as a rule of thumb the starter pretty high up in the bay, a lot higher that I thought it was going to be. AWESOME writeup by the way

look me up in the members rides section. for some pics that might help with where to put the dent. I used the mckinney mounts and dropped the motor from the top, and although it is tight I got in probably 30 minutes max. everything clears fine.
