the motor in my car

hey i know this may sound all stupid and stuff but look i just bought this car a month ago and i bought it to be different i hate honda civics everyone has one not very many people around my area and a nissan 240sx but im wondering what the name of the motor is its stock no switches or anything. also i was wondering if you thought with a k&n airfilter and exhaust if it would take a celica gt 5 speed???(my car is a 5 speed also)thanks alot that would be awsome if i knew tho motor and what i could do to it. thanks

hey just to let you know my car has never ran over a 16 flat so i dont know what your talking about with me running a 16.8

its not the fastest thing your right but its not that slow either!!

I really have been into imports for about 2-years but it never ceases to amaze me what some import driver's guys think is fast. It is just this sort of thing that gives the domestic guy's ammunition to hate on import enthusiasts.(that and getting a really big wing on your high 15s low 16s import.

itsallgood.......16 flat is slower than molasses. I had an rx7, TRUST ME MAN i would know what fast is. the 0-100 in an rx7 is faster than your 0-60. you should go spend your time reading the posts on how fast a 240 can be with an SR, you will prolly **** your pants at those times...and that can be done for about $5k for car, engine, everything.I knew a guy with a fully built gsr motor t3/t4 hybrid turbo civic hb. cost him over $10k for the motor alone and he can only run low 13's.Half the price for the same speed. Why are you arguing over racing stock cars and their times anyways? boring....

look, 15.8 isn't that fast. its quick, specially for a SOHC, but it isn't something special. yes, the 240 feels really fast because of alot of low end torque, but once you get past that, the lack of power kills you. i'm not dissin on the 240, its just the truth. they have no power at all compared to some of its competitors. at least we have a real car. Yeah, a 16.00 second quarter mile (or okay, a 15.8, big difference:rolleyes ) means I could beat you, which is pretty bad, since my car's on the low end of the motor spectrum for f-bodies (the big dawg for thirdgens like mine was a 225hp 350tpi w/ 300lb/ft of torque in stock trim; try 250 easily w/ a few mods...) and burns oil almost as fast as it burns gas, lol!

...And a new Honda Civic could probably whoop me, and that means you'd lose to a Civic too, ouch! Just get the sr20det and you're set, like was stated above, that's what I plan on doing!:ylsuper

That's okay...the funniest thing I have ever seen was at SIR (seattle's nhra strip). Some DA has a 240 out there, but his slicks were on the front and the skinnies were on the rear.............people that stupid should never even get a license to drive on the roads.

no im not pissed im just a busy man im always at work at school and yes i do plan on getting the sr20 motor and yes i know 15.8 isnt fast but its decent and yes i love the fact that the 240 is rwd i dont like fwd expecially when the try to burn out thats just funny but anyway your saying a new civic could beat me?? honestly i dont know im not saying yes or no but ive raced a couple cars and won but lack of skill prolly played a little role but you know. and yeah i know what real speed is i had a 13 sec 5.0 stang i wish i still had it, but ya know its ok it wasnt the **** but it was ok! anyway well i need the sr20 motor but need time for money and find a good deal like 2300 or so but anyway if you know were i can get one let me know k thanks
