Well it happend over this past weekend (11/15/03). I was droping off my brother at school, Temple U. at about 1 in the morning. I was on my way home at about 2. Im coming across the Ben Franklin bridge. For those who live in this area or know of this bridge, you understand the turn for those who don't i'll do my best to describe the bridge. At the end of the bridge on both sides, there are a series* of turns. Coming into Jersey, the first turn is a hard right followed by a simple left, straight for about 1/8 of a mile and then up on to the express way. Well on this particular night the road was a lil wet....well wet. Im coming across the bridge and im entering the first turn (hard left) im threw that amazingly at about 35mph, clutch pressed, and brakes applied. I downshifted into second and procced to take the left. Well as I SLOWLY released the clutch, I felt that I had little traction. Unfortunently I reliezed this when I begain to drift. Instead of trying to ride it out, I hit the brakes in which causing my car to do a 1080 in the middle of the four lane exit coming about a door length from slaming into the concrete wall. THANK GOD the jeep that was exiting with me got off the first exit or else I wouldn't be here today. Becarful out in the rain you guys.

i think he meant 180. but yeah, thats what makes rwd more fun than fwd. you just gotta watch out because more control makes more room for error.

next time you get sideways, just come off the gas and resist the urge to slam the brakes. and dont overcompensate, thats how i lost my MR2.

yeah i pulled something like that on SR-50 here in orlando one night. twas raining pretty nicely and im cruising about 40-45. slow car in front of me and empty lane to my left. the light about 200 ft ahead had just turned green and i slowly changed lanes, being careful about the rain. in the middle of the two, i hit a large patch of water and lost traction. i did a 360 in that 200 ft and then went around again 180 and ended up in the intersection facing oncoming traffic in my lane. scared the living bejesus out of me!. needles to say the next day i bought 2 new yokohamas for the back. :ylsuper

nah bro it was defenently(i know it's wrong) a 1080 when i released the clutch, the rpm's started to race up to 3K. I hit the clutch again and by this time i was allready spinnen. i would love to do it again lets say somewhere where there is a ****load of space and not worring about getting plowed by anyone.

ok, i couldnt resist. "the most scariest experience of my life" ...good grammatical skills there boss. try "the scariest" or "the most scary". ok, feel free to send me a letter bomb now, im quite done.

my car used to fishtail if it was wet. seriously, no amount of careful driving could get it to not fishtail. i had a summit radial trac and a goodyear cheapa$$ 30 dollar tire on the back and they didnt like to grip too much. 90 degree turns posed a real problem for me if it was so much as mildly damp outside 6 weeks ago. the car would go into a massive D1 style drift every time. 2nd gear at 2k rpm, 5h gear at 500rpm, didnt matter. now, usually this was fun since i knew it would every time, but one time it did it on my way to school and i went: ditch, neighbor's truck coming at me at 30mph, ditch, neighbor's truck, ditch, neighbor's truck and i finally caught it. it was rough. went and bought my falkens that night.

Yeah ok Tim, I'll try and remember to use correct grammar the next time I open a new topic at 2 in the morning. No really, I'll keep that in mind. I see that there are still people here in this site that is just as worried about grammatical structring as they are about what is going to happen in the Micheal Jackson trail. Somethings never change.:rolleyes
