The whole "angry mob" thing terrifies me - As claustrophobic as I am, there's no effing way I'd be in that mess.
A lot of people who go to Black Friday sales see it as entertainment or a sport. Hell when I was staying at my grandparents place for thanksgiving some of my cousins were laying down intricate plans on how best to ransack the nearest Walmart. I wouldn't call the behavior of people on that particular day a reason to ring the death knell for America though. Isn't competitive consumerism a cornerstone of our economy?
And why is the guy taking shots at people for not owning any precious metal? There are other physical assets other than gold that work just as well. It's a solid investment though.(Pun?)
I'm with you on the crowds thing. I once passed out in a club and woke up vomiting on the sidewalk (Hadn't had one drink). One minute I was crowding up to the bar, smashed up against a flood of people, the next I was nose first on the hardwood with the bouncer dragging me out. Happened again at a college graduation but I kinda just slumped to the ground that time.
