Nothing's perfect...the newer G's have:

1. Better paint2. Better leather seats3. New headlight design4. New Bose stereo system (still lacks bass imo)

That there is an interesting list of complaints.

All of which are not too to common on the G...unless its been wrecked.

The interior leather requires maintenance from the point when it was new. If I were you I would look into restoring the leather as part of your end of winter cleaning regiment. There are many things you can do to clean, renew, and repair your leather surfaces. As long as they are not dry cracked you can do some pretty impressive things with the products on the market.

Try some googling.

The headlights of the 04 can be changed with leds fairly simply if you are that motivated.

Well the stereo does suck, there is nothing for that. Even when they work well they are pretty awful. However that was changed in 2005, then in 2007, then in 2008, well basically yearly.

the one thing that really bothered me in my oh-ten G37 was how I had to press up on the steering wheel toggle to go down in a playlist, folder list, or scan for radio stations. I had chocked it up to crazy japanese engineering and accepted the quirk, but I got a letter in the mail from Infiniti today offering to fix this quirk for free. I am going to take them up on their offer.

While it is there, I'm going to see if they'll fix the two holes that they drilled into the front bumper to mount a license plate...
