As much as I love my coupe, there are some little i quirks that bug me, as there are with almost all cars. What are some of your peeves about this car. I'll start

1) Hollow vibrating door panels:
The stock speakers for these cars are great. Gives out great sound and great bass, but when the bass hits, IT SHAKES! Both door panels start to vibrate since its made of cheap plastic or whatever its made of. I was hoping this could be considered a manufactures "defect". I call it a defect only because I sincerely doubt that when they were putting these cars together they were expecting loud obnoxious rattling when the bass hits. I'd hope they can take the panels off and stop the shaking somehow. Im sure its an easy fix. I dont think dynamat would help though. its needs cushioning.

2) Drivers seatbelt banging against the wall: Again, this can be an easy fix but still. I was looking at how weird the seatbelt set up is and theres no way to turn the buckle outward so it doesnt bang against the plastic panel.

3) Noisy sunglasses holder. I'm thinking about just covering the inside with some sort of fabric.

and finally 4) DUST DUST DUST! Though not really the cars fault, it's just a pain in the a**. Especially on the 2010+ seats since its made of felt, anything and I mean ANYTHING will stick to those seats and the only real easy way to get it out is using one of those sticky rollers.

I love these cars

To be honest, I don't have any problems with your 4, none. I get a little dust but my AC is garaged. I have only a couple of annoyances, 1) I wish there was a better way of getting into the back seat, maybe a suicide door like the RX8 2) I wish Nissan would offer a Nismo package for the AC, even if it is FWD.

Speaking of which, 5) Make AT LEAST the V6 model RWD. 6) Make the electric seats movie quicker. I always have my friends get in the passenger way because it just takes forever to move the drivers seat forward.

If you wanted the seats to move faster, to the point where it would be practical to get in behind the driver's seat, the motors would need to be HUGE. Huge heavy motors. Just remember you're not buying a coupe for the people sitting in the back.

Exactly, and its rare anyone ever gets back there (i prefer the didnt). But again, these are just little annoyances that can don't reflect on what I think of the car as a whole.

if you wanna do the doors it could run you from like $50-70. If your gonna do the whole trunk it could run you to a couple $100

ive only had experiences with the door speakers. i have screwdrivers, pressure gauges, and wrenches there so i always thought that was what the noise was.

The noises are terrible. The bass rattles the doors, high speed vibrations causes chirps from who know wants in the dash panels. The moonroof whistles even when closed.

I don't like how the seat belt smacks against the panels, but it's manageable.

What sucks more, is that the door frame welds are a nightmare! See: urgent-everybody-check-your-door-frames-t538605.html

I swore after my first car I would never by a car with a moonroof because of that.

Re: 5) Nissan makes a RWD 2+2 performance coupe already. It's called the Infiniti G. The Altima will never be RWD. The coupe is built on the same platform as the sedan, and the sedan is the highest selling model Nissan manufactures. Therefore, the core chassis and drivetrain is going to remain what the sedan is built for. RWD is synonomous with a sports car, and if that is what you're looking for, you bought the wrong car.

Re: 6) Think about what you just posted. Perhaps there's a reason why the passenger side isn't also a power seat?

Well I wouldve bought the wrong car anyways even if they did make it for the 3.5 since mines a 2.5. Again, these aren't really complaints nor am i unsatisfied. More that satisfied with what I have. I was on the line between this car or a G35. I just wanted a new car with hardly any miles.

I also wasn't aware it was built on the same platform as the sedan, that opens my eyes up since I thought it was a slightly different platform being a coupe and all. So thanks for the enlightenment =)

Are all passenger seats manual on all models?

Yep - the coupe has a slightly lower roofline than the sedan (about 2 inches or so). The overall length of the car may be a bit shorter than the sedan, but otherwise they're the same thing with different body panel composition.

Of all the Altima Coupe models I have seen over the years, I can safely say that the passenger seats are manual in all trims. My 3.5 with everything but navi has a manual passenger seat.

The Infiniti G has dual front power seats, but the passenger seat (at least in the convertible version - my friend has one) has a manual quick release for rear seat access. My Z is dual power seats, but no manual release (not really a need for one... ha)

Ok so I just did a little craigslist search. I looks like the trunk dynamat goes for $160 at a sound shop. Theres one guy selling it new for $80

Heres another one where its just assorted Dynamat stuff. I'd try hitting them up even though they are local sellers.
