The lights on my dash dont work Pls Help!

Your dimmer switch is dying or dead.

Before switching out your dimmer switch, make sure it isn't off. Could be your problem.

None the less, it's your dimmer switch.

Mine will go out sometimes. I just give the dimmer switch a slight smack and it comes back on.

Same here ..a good smack and it lights back off.Plan on resoldering the switch this spring.

Thanx. I know the swiths is not off, but ima "Rick James" it if nothing ima head 2 the junk yard.....

I fixed this problem by blowing out the switch housing with compressed air. The rheostat collects dust.

I have the same problem. My dash lights will go out, and good hit on the dash and let there be light. Did anybody have the problem of there headlights going out when driving?

It's their headlights and yeah, it's been discussed on here. It's probably the headlight relay crappin out on you.

i would definently recommend to take apart the switch and , if you know how to, basically reheat all solder connections and maybe add some more solder. i know this works with the headlight relay thing. i had that problem with my headlight relay a while ago, and it stopped after i got the solder wet again, and added some more solder.

Also check your fuses. May or may not be the problem, but you will kick yourself later if you buy a switch and that doesn't work either, only to find that it was a fuse all along. From reading this post, it seems like these dimmer switches are faulty in these cars, so chances are, thats the problem, but it never hurts to start with the free stuff.

theres actually quite a few components in the j30's that a "faulty" after a while. and for most of them, like i mensioned, a little solder will generally do the job.
