damn they got murdered. Almost swepped too if it wasnt for kobe's vital 3 pointer. BUt the Pistons just wanted it more. I just feel bad for Malone though. Now he has to retire without a championship ring, even his daughter has one!!!!! Sorry Karl :( . Man i know if the Spurs went to the finals they would have killed the Pistons, yet they did lose 4 games straight after LA's comeback so idk. Oh Well maybe if Kobe and Phil stay, we might have a shot in teh future to become a real dynasty.

It was great to see the Lakers lose. :-) Outside of California, they are quite possibly one of the least liked teams in the NBA (mainly because they were so dominant for 3+ years), and though he can score, it's hard to respect Shaq; if I was over 7 feet tall, weighed 330 pounds, and got within 6 feet of the basket, and I couldn't score 30 points a game, I'd definitely be dead, because that's the only way it wouldn't happen. ;-)

Anyway, a Pistons victory isn't all that great for me, as a Philly fan, lots of painful memories traced to Detroit. For one, the owner of the Pistons is the owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who knocked the Flyers out of the race for the Cup. And then, Larry Brown left the Sixers (couldn't really blame him with AI being as arrogant as he was/is), though they came up big in Game 1 against the Lakers in 2001, preventing them completely sweeping everyone that year. Ahh, to be a Philly fan . . . vengenace never ends. ;-)

And is never achieved either. A horse couldn't even bring you guys a significant championship.

I was a sad panda last night.

How can you NOT respect Shaq? I mean, the guy wieghs 330 but he's quick! I don't know how someone with that much mass can move like he does.

Sorry to see it end like it did. It will probably be years before we see another Laker dynasty.

Ouch, thats below the belt. But 2 outta 3 aint too shabby...I cant say I'm sorry the lakers lost. I didnt see a sinlge finals game, but I'm glad someone outplayed the Lakers. They have an allstar at position (except 3 guard). Its almost like they have too much talent to be effective. The pistons just wanted it more. Billups has played some great ball thru the playoffs and Ben Wallace is a beast (20+ rebounds every night)Congrats to the Pistons!

...but Phil jackson is still the man...

Philly is fully of championships; sadly, the last one a Philly team won was in 1983. :-) Philly is always a talented sports city, nothing has fallen into place the past few years however . . . we'll see what happens.

Oh, and respecting Shaq? The guy has a hard time making FOUL SHOTS!!! He's quite possibly the worst basketball player in the league; he scores, and he's effective, not because of any natural born talent, but due to natural born traits. Like I said, if anyone was over 7 feet tall, 330 pounds, and if you want to throw athletic in, fine, but you HAVE to be able to get 30 points a game with those assets. Shrink Shaq down to Kobe's size, and he wouldn't be in the NBA . . .

You obviously never saw him in high-school or college. He was an awesome player the whole time, and in H.S. he looked like he was under 225, pretty lanky looking. Yeah, his free throws suck big time, but the rest of his shots look good. How could he be the worst player in the league when he's been an MVP? I didn't think MVP awards went out to crappy players, did I miss something there? ;)

Nope, I can obviously tell you're from SoCal. ;-) He doesn't shoot outside of 5 feet from the basket, unless he's taking a foul shot . . . he creates a lot of points, but shrink him, not just in weight, but in height, and see if he can play in the NBA still. I don't think he'd have a prayer in hell, just my opinion . . . did I mention I'm a Philly fan? ;-)

LOL, that's kind of a dumb thing to say. There are alot of big guys out there who still aren't in the NBA. Shrink him down to Kobe's size and it would be a completely different situation. Make me the size of Shaq and I'd just be an oversized white guy who still couldn't make it in the NBA. And his fould shots have gotten MUCH better.

I'm not some huge Lakers fan or anything, just pointing out the absurdity of that argument.

Name someone you know who is over 7 feet tall, and weighs over 300 pounds, while remaining somewhat athletic . . . or can you? Sure, there's big guys not in the NBA, but they aren't that big, and they aren't that massive, and they aren't as athletic as Shaq (which isn't all that athletic to begin with, he certainly shows that he's tiring on the court). And while I've never seen you, if you had those three traits, you had better be as good as Shaq. Hard to get much worse . . . ;-)

Foul shots are a gift; if you can't make at least 65% of the them, you need help, badly (in the NBA anyway). Shaq creates points down low, that's about it; he doesn't hand out many, if any, assists, he can't create a whole lot for others, etc. Rebounding is pretty much his only skill, and that's not even that great. Ben Wallace dominates him, and he's smaller. Shaq might be a MVP, but he is certainly not what I would consider a good, well-rounded basketball player (and in my mind, to say good as well as well-rounded is redundant).

No one said he was a well rounded ball player, he has his strengths and weaknesses obviously, as everyone does. He is more to the extreme than most given his "large" stature. I guess I just don't see why you can't give him any respect, he practices the same as everyone else, and certainly gets the (his) job done come game time, and that's all that really matters.

He doesn't have any talents, all he has is his physical stature, which is enough to give him 30 points a game. If he was any kind of basketball player, he'd be able to do far more than what he does, and that's why I don't respect him . . . just my opinion. It's not gonna change. ;-)

I went to a lot of Lakers games as a kid, when Magic, Kareem, Green, Scott and all those guys were playing. Ever since about 8th grade, the Clippers have been the LA NBA team that I support. Sure, their ownership sucks and will never retain the excellent talent that they are always eligible to draft. None the less, they always get some good players, and you can watch the Clippers play for about 1/3rd of what it costs to watch the Lakers.

This whole Laker's season was wack. The moment that I heard they signed Malone and Payton so that those guys could win rings, I lost all respect for them. Anyone who signs with a team "to win a championship" deserves to be ***** smacked into embarassment. It just came across as totally pompous to me for Malone to go to LA because he believed they were destined to be champions. No one is destined for ish! You either work toward it, or you have it taken away. This season, the Lakers had it taken away.

The franchise is going to fragment into pieces. Jackson is gone. Kobe is most likely gone, and probably going to Memphis. Shaq will probably retire, or maybe stick it out for 1-2 more seasons. I have heard that Fox is out, which will make Fischer the team captain if he even sticks around.

Maybe they'll actually have to play their starters against the Clippers next year. I need to go make up some Clippers t-shirts. Maybe something along the lines of, "Clippers, because the Lakers just fell off!!"

lol just FYI, if Kobe leave the lakers, He wont leave LA. Kobe loves LA way too much. If hes going anywhere, itll be towards the clippers.
