Or a vacuum leak.Theadairfam wrote:Yea it was reset when the battery was disconnected when the car was being worked on the knock sensor is supposed to relay to the ignition coil that tells the computer when to spark for combustion the issue I'm having is when I'm idling or slowing to a stop my rpm drops way down and bounces from 200 up to 2000 rpms or will completely stall out also I was about 50 mph and the car started shaking which from what I've read on knock sensors is caused by spark to gas while piston is down
No, all the knock sensors do is listen for engine knocking sounds. If they stop working, the engine computer just retards the timing a little bit. With the timing retarded, the engine is a little sluggish, but it doesn't misfire.Theadairfam wrote:the knock sensor is supposed to relay to the ignition coil that tells the computer when to spark for combustion
Theadairfam wrote:ok finally got knock sensor fault fixed misfire was caused by shorting ignition coil. that was fun after I changed all the plugs and had a short had to test coils one at a time by hooking to a spark plug and looking at them to make sure they fired but now....... the tcs off and slip are lit up solid this happened after swapping 2 coils around I don't know how nothing other then coil 2 and 7 were swapped I checked all plugs to make sure they were connected does anyone know where the plug is that feeds the tcs im so tired of taking the top and side cover off of my motor
