I'm going to start building the head (leaving bottom stock to see what it can handle). I'm trying to find valves, retainers, valve springs, good head bolts for this and having no luck. What are some good sites to get these at? Or if anyone is selling any, let me know. Also has anyone put some decent psi, to an OEM headgasket? How many lbs is the oem headgasket good till?

Thanks- Brandon

Actually, the sponsor on the left http://www.ka24de.com has most of that stuff :) The oem headgasket is quite sturdy, but I switched out to a fel-pro as I think it's a better design and every bit as strong.

http://www.realnissan.com should have what you need. i have the fel-pro and it has held up to 18psi so far on my ka24et.

they have sohc parts and i bet can find/order/tell you where to get the rest. most places have more than they list on their websites so you should contact them and find out. deviouska on this forum also has some neat parts for the head.

Thanks for the input. Has anyone used any of the RealNissan stuff yet? If so what's your take on it? Especially the manifold (cracking, quality, etc.). I was going to wait for WD's manifold but I don't think I can wait, but we'll see.

On my E:- custom steam pipe manifold- OEM headgasket- custom solid lifters

As for springs/retainers, haven't found any of yet from another make that may work; particulary interested in lightweight retainers.

the only realnissan product on my car is the manifold. it is a cast manifold for another make i believe with the kae-t flanges welded on. i have had no problems with it cracking but i did have hood clearance problems with my t3/t04e 60 trim. overall it has worked well and i am pleased.

Any difference between the cast and tubular manifold? You'd think the tubular would be better. But price is cheaper on the tube compared to the cast. This because the cost of materials?

As far as the ka24e valvesprings are concerned, there are a few simple ways to get some stiff exhausts swapped in. This isnt such a bad idea just to do this and not the intakes, the exhaust valve is massive and spring rate/valve weight is not as good as the intake valves/springs. This can be done very affordably

btw. I can get custom valve springs in any spring rate made for the ka24e intake/exhaust. coming soon!

Good mildly built ka24e head:upgraded valve springssolid lifter conversionreground cammulti-angle valve grindmild port and polish

get your block decked/checkedget some new oem type headbolts (various manufactures)get a quality oem type aftermarket headgasket

That should hold plenty, and flow well
