Well, I finished all the wiring and plumbing for the gauges. I have had them in the car non-functional (obviously) with exception to the air/fuel and bits of the AVC-R. I have a friend who was going to help me wire the E-manage, but was a no-show due to personal issues. We will try again next Tuesday/Wednesday.

Picked up the oil pan from my welder who installed the oil return line and a new bung for the oil temp sensor.

Recieved my RCI transmission blanket, SFI approved I might add :)

Haven't received the block back as of yet, but it hasn't been quite a week yet. Really looking forward to gettin' down to the nitty-gritty! It's tough to balance my work schedule with getting to the shop though, so for that reason things are going even slower.

I have updated and added a lot more pics including the head porting ... please go to my domain below and see the new page 2 ... sign my guest book if you would! It helps to support the 240 and Nissan community!! If you don't, I'll send all my Honda friends over to your house to hold a forced discussion about sticker horsepower gains! Bah, I'm kidding ... I don't have any Honda friends ;)

Are those the 256/256 cams from JWT? I'd be very interested in knowing how they work with a turbocharged app. Nice work too!

They are the .390/275's. When used with the adjustable cam sprockets, I'll have more room to play with the overlap.

Tuesday: I was able to swap the rear for the VLSD. Pretty straight forward, but had to drop my exhaust (Apex GT Spec) and anti-sway bar for the job. No problems there. Also got the resistors installed for the injectors ... thanks Conroy ;) The machine shop called; block work is complete, but as of today still has not made it back down to my shop :( Maybe tomorrow.

Wednesday:I concentrated on the fuel pump swap. Installed the 300ZX turbo pump. Note the following ... the rubber noise barrier located on the bottom of the OEM fuel pump must be modified to work with the 300ZX pump. I also cut about 1/2" off the metal tube post fuel pump to make room since I did'nt want to remove too much material from the rubber barrier. As well, I purposely twisted the frame support just a bit so as the pump would not hit the inner wall of the fuel tank. And, I also swapped the pickup filters.

Highlight of the day (Wed):Ever wonder what gasoline feels like in your eyes? No problem, I can tell you. IT BURNS LIKE HELL! As my friend was removing the old pump assembly, the filter flipped up from the tank and splashed fuel right into both my eyes. Because I couldn't open my eyes, I had to be led to the restroom to flush them out for about 10 minutes. Everything was fine after that (whew).

Go to my sight for some picture updates (mostly page 2), http://members.sounddomain.com/4sfed

Sign my guestbook you lazy bass turds ;) Later!

The head gasket is available directly from Cometic. Yes, I'll be installing the rods and pistons myself with a good friend's assistance, a very experienced pro engine builder; never hurts to spot check.

Hmmm, I'm thinking of installing my pistons/rods myself after the machine work is done. I have lots of time to put it together and all the instructions :) Do you think it would be feasible to do it myself? I'm good with my hands ;)

Nathan:As long as you are familiar with performance engine building and torque requirements, both OEM and post market, you should be fine.

Exar-Kun:I bought the relocate kit from a local performance shop. You can visit Taylor though at http://www.taylorcableproducts.com.

SingleCamSam:Is that what they are? Hehe, I bought them used and never knew the product name, just that they're OZ. MINE ALL MINE!!! NOT YOURS ... MINE MINE MINE!!!!!!

Red240ne:I was able to get the Taylor for less money through some old contacts ... besides, Summit doesn't list theirs as passing NHRA safety requirements nor being SFI approved. But I suppose it very well could be though. The major difference between the two boxes is Summit uses clamps for the lid whereas Taylor uses wing-nuts for a secure enclosure. That alone could be the determining factor on whether it's SFI approved or not.

Looking good Scotty!! Can't wait to see this beast run. BTW, what's the offset on your wheels in the rear and what size tire do you run out back? How's the clearance? Keep up the good work and keep us updated.
