I thought this thread would have pictures of Jim busting a nut. I'm disappoint.

Agree'd. I'd take a German car over an equally priced Italian car any day.
So to clarify, you'd prefer a big ol' 5000 pound landbarge Mercedes S class over Lamborghini Gallardo?

Convertible 8C is WRONG. Would you cut the face out of the Mona Lisa?

It's not that I don't like German cars, at least historically I adore them, but the modern ones leave me wanting. Too much weight and complexity, too much gadgetry, etc. Alfa wouldn't be caught dead offering something like i-Drive.

MOD: I completely agree, the 8C should be coupe only, and I *love* convertibles.

The Gallardo is a German car, although it's a good'un.

Make sure you have plenty of money left over to spend on repairs. One of my close friends had one. Had a lotta problems with it. Fun car to drive that made all the right sounds, but as a typical Alfa of that era, the steering wheel will feel too far away and the pedals too close.

Yeah, I intend to buy a recently-restored car and it'll really only be driven on weekends.

Luckily the parts aren't really all that expensive, but they do have a reputation for breaking pretty often.
