This one is being covered in another therad, but I'm gonna give my take on it.

Now, a lot of the criticism levied at the current Administration is based on opinion, differences ideology, and a differing perspective. This particular one is not. Debate it at will, but bring your A-game.

Even a school child could figure out that this is just plain ludicrous.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITI....html

So, even after most of the banks paid back WITH INTEREST the TARP funds (which, if no one noticed, was the LARGEST IN HISTORY profit the Fed has ever experienced).

Now, these buffoons want to add ANOTHER tax on banks (not just the ones who haven't paid back TARP funds - ALL banks) to cover the ones that didn't.

The money came out of OUR pockets once already (to bail out the banks). Now, new fees (which WILL be passed on to taxpayers) are being proposed.

Keep in mind that private industry (NOT the government) has the capacity to pull an economy out of an economic downturn... How can that happen when proposals like this are flying about?

Gibbs said it is the president's "goal" to ensure the "money that taxpayers put up will be paid back in full."

YOU MORON!!!! Where do you think that money will come from?

FROM THE TAXPAYER! They're gonna hit us twice?!?!

This is, once again, simply a smoke-and-mirrors distraction from the REAL goal - The redistribution of wealth.

The Obama administration has REPEATEDLY made comments that make apparent his disdain for Wall Street... "Fat cat bankers" and such.

He has a problem with executives being paid big bonuses... But those are CONTRACTUAL issues between the banks and their employees - The government has NO say in them! You withhold a bonus and watch the lawsuits start flying! With those lawsuits come costs, which are ALSO passed on to taxpayers. And you're going to deprive a family of their livelihood, just because the breadwinner is a bank employee? Those employees PERFORMED, and their pay is based on that performance. It has nothing to do with the financial viability of the bank itself. Those people are OWED that money.

GET REAL.

This is about control. Nothing more, nothing less.

I can only come to one logical conclusion here: Obama hates the upper-middle class and anyone above them. Try and convince me I'm wrong.

I'm so mad I could punch a baby.

From what I heard they are not going to allow the banks to recoup the funds via the public by raising rates and fees. The expectation is that banks should simply swallow the "penalty". While some may think this protects the "public" the "public" will suffer due to drops in stock prices, 401k's and other retirement plans. In order to limit that the financial institutions will lower spending and probably reduce head count as well which will lead to less money in the market and more unemployed.

Sounds like a marvy plan......

From a bonus perspective, I didn't hear of Fanny/Freddie holding back bonus money. Of course, being owned by the Gov means it's simply our money they are giving away for two entities who are broke and going backward.

I could form some type of long worded reply to effectively communicate my opinion, but why bother. No one listens and no change will come of it.

So a simple and to the point statement is all I am left with.

The Gov has no place constraining free enterprise in America.

You either agree or disagree with that statement. If you disagree, I'd be more then willing to assist in your move...out of his Country. Then the rest of us can rebuild and become a great Nation once again. But until we get the worthless, lazy Socialists out of this country we're doomed to repeat failure over and over again.

Perfectly and succinctly stated.

I'm appalled at the stuff I hear out of BHO's mouth. Who the F does he think he is, to even COMMENT on how much money someone makes?

That's the audacity of the whole thing.

Here's a news flash for the Prez: Some of us are driven, motivated, hard-working people. We don't need YOU, your stupid "community organizations", your handouts, your regulations, your constraints, your initiatives, your ignorant opinions, your unions or your bailouts. We're wise to your manipulation of the media. We see past your "slick-talking". We hate your brand of politics. We know FAR better than you what's good for us and our families. We're not stupid - we see what you're doing with our tax dollars. We did just fine without your inexperienced opinions, and you can take your socialism and shove it up your a$$.

Just leave me the HELL alone and stay OUT of my business.

Oh, and here's another news flash for the Prez, since apparently SOME of us paid attention in Econ 101: Cutting bonuses just increases the banks' profits by reducing their expenses, helping bank shareholders, not taxpayers. Is that REALLY what you're trying to do?

I agree with this, meddling with companies isn't going to solve anybodys problems. People should solve thier own problems to begin with, right?

I can understand helping someone through a tough time, but not changing somebodys diaper for them, and rubbing thier belly, that's just ridiculous.

There is no easy way out of this recession, but that doesn't mean private industry should just get tapped by people who have no business being there.

I want to say so many things, but they all come back to the same place.
