Ok, I was doing the IACV AAC valve test as described in the FSM. It says "When pinching the IACV-air regulator hose, does the engine speed drop?" Ok, when I did the test it droped about 100 rpm and you could hear the engine get lower. Is that enough to mean that the IACV is messed up? And can I spray the new seafoam deep creap (seafoam in a spray can) stuff into the hose to try and clean it out? Thanks!

Your IACV-AAC is fine.It is supposed to drop engine speed when pinching the hose.

If it doesn't (like mine), then you have to replace/clean. I wouldn't try messing with spraying any carb cleaner or seafoam on it or anything like that if it's working, since it is an electrical part.

So yeah. Nice d00d. Good IACV.

My story:The sad thing is that my mechanic said that I can't clean my IACV to make it work and promptly went on saying "it shouldn't be cleaned. Only replaced."

Does anybody know if that's bull or not? Cuz I have heard alot of stories of people just taking their IACV's out and cleaning them and then they work just fine.

(Bleh.. it's alright, my dad's paying for it. I guess it's ok, cuz maybe it is messed up and a new IACV won't be messed up at all)

I'm talking about pinching the hose when the engine is warm, if the engine speed drops that means the valve is open when it isn't suppose to be. The FSM says the same thing. And I already seafoamed it so I hope it doesn't mess anything up.
