Hey guys, Just wanted to bring everyone up to speed about my car and the battles it has endured (well kinda)... Went through 2 ka-e's in a years span, then bought and swapped in a stock ca18det. I soon got bit by the boost bug ( everyone eventually does) and installed a custom built (by dee) t25, 444cc injectors, HD stage 3 ecu, ARC smic, N60 mafs and a safc II, Extracted about 275whp out of it at 20psi. Battled and beat (or kept up with) a few cars that I thought would destroy me.... Surprised? Me Too..... Well one night I accidentally used premium from a gas station that just switched over to 91 premium not the 93 octane it was tuned for. Well after a good highway run against a tt'd 350z, i hear some sounds and the car begins to bog with any throttle input, I thought I just blew off an IC pipe, NOPE!!!! smoke covering the entire roadway. great...Popped the head off and this is what I see...

This is after about 20-25k miles after I installed the motor, all mobil 1 10-30

Off with your head (lol) Notice the headgasket , not good

Bottom side of the head, check where the gasket blew

Think it leaned out and det'ed? lol. live and learn (to pay attention) check out the chunk that is missing between 3 and 4...

Close up of the head, OUCH!!!

New build list: 425+whp goal

-SDS em3-f (bracket and pulley magnets installed) (bought)

-New head (tomei valve springs, 3 angle job, dee's 270 cams) (bought)

-Nismo headgasket (bought)

-ARP headstuds (bought)

-SSAC front mount (bought)

-750 or 1000cc Injectors (needed)

-nismo FPR (needed)

-CP pistons (needed)

- All new gaskets, main and rod bearings (needed)

-Top mount t3 Mani (needed)

-Either gt35r turbo or T3/T4 variant(needed)

This build up list should hopefully have me well on my way to 425+ whp.

Lemme know what you guys think, along with any other questions or comments, I would really appreciate any help I can get with finding the parts needed at a decent price. lol. (couldn't we all)

Thanks Jake

Sounds like you're headed in the right direction. How come you don't have ARP rod bolts on your list though

I would go with a Wisceo. CPs are softer and do not have the quality of a wiseco (or supertech, but I do not think they have a shelf piston for you).

Niether way, good luck
