The Hose on top of the Coolant Box?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

My radiator blew while driving the other week, and had it replaced at nearby shop. I decided to take a look under the hood today, a couple weeks later, and my coolant box is empty and the hose connected to the top is just laying off to the side, not connected to anything.

Where does the other end of this hose go?

It's been a while since I did my coolant change and removed the coolant overflow tank, but it's pretty easy to remove it. I think it's only secured by two 10mm bolts. Since it's already empty, I'd remove the tank and take a quick look.

Looks like the only function is as an overflow hose.

Instead of placing it back into the clips that point it toward the ground, the mechanic just laid it across everything pointing at my passenger intake.
