-$750, Loop did the prototyping right? I'd get this if it were $500-$600.

They also have the non vented one here: http://www.extremedimensions.com/10594.html

-600

That's definitely Loop's car. Is he around to give us an opinion on how the vented one looks compared to the non vented one in person?

Nothing wrong with a CF hood, but does it have to have those vents??

dude , that looks like a photochop... I've seen glass hoods... usually they have the center cut out and replaced with thick plexiglass

but there are some legit transparent hoods put there..

the company should be paying you to put those hoods on your car i dont think fugly is a strong enough of a term to describe them with...

and what happened to these even being produced? this was a fad back in the early 00's to late 90's that i was happy to have had disappear... have you seen what these hoods do in a head on collision also? they go straight back into the drivers / passengers compartment decapitating you vs crumbling like the mfg's were made to do.

...what kind of weight change are you even going to see from this? our hoods are already aluminum.

on my GP I saved 50 pounds by adding one of these

There are safety latches that would pop it up in case of a frontal collision, same as with the regular hood. Decapitating would be difficult, slant of the windshield + body preventing that unfortunate case.

Ya I doubt it will retain shape enough to blast through the windshield and do damage to the driver/passenger, but hey i've never tested it so i'm just guessing.

As for the hood, I like it but I would probably end up painting it, and the only way I would consider purchasisng it would be if it had a massive weight difference, only reason to go cf in my opinion

We both have, at this time, black vehicles. There is no point, form a financial perspective, to get something like this, as it would not stand out.
