Good question... I'll let Bex fill you guys in on more of the story, but it was pretty simple, and yet terribly complex.
Started off with a simple email, which by the next day became an 8-hour AIM chat, and it went on from there... 60 hours of phone calls in the first week, and it hasn't slowed much since then, lol... Countless text messages, emails, and notes have passed back and forth.
I was already planning to be in her area on business, and casually asked if she'd like to go out while I was in town. Not long threeafter, the business trip plans got changed - but by then I was so stoked to meet this girl I had been having so much fun talking to, I kept the trip on the agenda.
A persistent question kept popping up (for me) throughout our discussions, and it went something like this:
Assuming we're all made up of 3 components: Heart, body and mind....
"If you fall in love with someone's heart and mind, but you've never seen them in person, how important IS that other 1/3?"
Think on that for a while - How do we typically meet someone? It goes like this:
"Whoa - She's HOT! I'ma go talk to her."
We all know how THAT works out. You have no idea if she's married, psycho, stupid, phoney, materialistic, damaged, moody, insane, or just plain impossible to get along with... So you're at an extreme disadvantage right there.
I didn't have that issue. So, how important IS it that you're physically attracted to someone? We were about to find out. By the time I arrived in TN, I don't think I cared that much, because I already knew she was someone I'd love to spend more time with.
Showed up at her house, and she's standing on the porch.
DONE.
Absolutely adorable, with the greatest smile, gorgeous eyes, and a laugh that makes you go all weak in the knees.
We had an absolute blast all weekend, just hanging out, spending time together... I think by the end of the weekend, I was completely hooked.
Plans, phone calls, emails, and text messages continued, non-stop....
Fast-forward to last weekend, where we met up in Savannah, and again had a great time. By now, we'd talked about damn near every topic under the sun, and just like everything else we do, it was "pedal to the metal" - So I pulled the trigger, and here we are today.
I'm quite simply the luckiest guy in the world.
There's the "Cliff's Notes" - Maybe you guys can talk Bex into filling in the rest (or telling you HER side, lol!)
