They only rated the 370z commercial 1 mustache, I think it should atleast be 2. (you will see what I mean by "mustache" once you click the link)

I'm not going to lie to this day I have watched the 300zx Z32 dream commercial countless times and I still enjoy watching it haha, I agree completely with it earning 5 mustaches.

This thread upsets me, not because I'm bothered by the ads, but because the Nissan I grew up with, the company that put fun and excitement into everything from sports cars to microwagons to pickup trucks is long dead.

What the hell happened?

Sure, Nissan still builds the 370Z, but if the DNA of the Z doesn't trickle down to every vehicle in the corporate lineup the way the essence of the 300ZX found its way into every nissan product of the 90s, then what's the point of building a sports car? If the brand isn't represented by its most iconic enthusiast car, then the Z is nothing more than an unrelated one-off. You could call it a Chevy, Ford, Daewoo, Geely, or Honda because it's hardly a Nissan unless the Versa, Sentra, and Altima share its sporting characteristics.

I know people at Nissan in Tennessee, France, and Japan are reading this post. I suspect half of them are rolling their eyes while the other half are sighing in sadness over what the brand has become.

I am with you 1000%. You make a fantastic point about the 370Z being a one-off. It really is. There is nothing about the current Z that is represented in ANY other model. ANY of them. (No, the Juke doesn't count IMHO even though it stole the Z's taillights) The closest was the Altima Coupe, and even in that small squinty relation, they ended up killing the V6 in it (and are probably killing the car). That is a sad statement too.

Some may argue the GT-R is the marquee sports car. As far as I'm concerned, that's even further down the one-off path than the Z. The Z has been on American shores for 40 years, while the GT-R has been here for 5. Not the same.
