Hello!!!I took his advise and started looking at the nico forums instead of the 240sxforums! big difference!!! I like it!!

Ok heres the deal. I'm a big pro SR fan... why b/c i've had three in the past and i have nothing bad to say about them. Yes the have there ups and downs just like any other motor but they never broke and i drove the piss out of them!!!

so I went down to tampa to buy the car. Sean was late to put me up at the airport b/c the car was(and still is) low enough to catch the muffler on the lip of any unexpecting main whole. so when picked me up in the M3(very nice) we picked up the S13 and got the car back to his house and fixed it has much has possible befor i hit the road.

we went out for my test drive... diffenitly not as fast as my 310whp SR but with the turn of the boost knob(that isn't hooked up) it could be there...

Sean is a pretty cool guy and he told me everything he knew about the car so i took it all in... I enjoyed the test drive so I'LL TAKE IT...

so even with me being pro SR i took a chance with the CA. Drove it seven hours home with not one problem. the next day didn't far so well. I took my roommate out for a drive it. Did a little second gear roll on into third gear. pulled ok just like it did the night before.

This is my first full boost run since ownership. i didn't boost it all on the way and i have the 30+mpg gas tickets to prove so i get to a turn around since i live on a hwy and the engine stalls when i pushed the clutch in. ummm. started up fine and I drove off no problems. my last SR did this once in awhile so i thought nothing of it.

that night came and I picked a friend to go to the local car meet... had fun just talking to a guy that just came from yokota Air base... on the way back did a 1st gear roll on into 2nd and let off. I hear something going on with the engine so i take it easy to my friends house drop him off and then get it to my house where i called Sean.

he told me that it might be a collasped lifter or a cracked pistion so do a comp test on it and see. I hoped for the lifter but i got a blown motor!

Comp test as read 1: 109 2: 117 3:70 4:135 did #3 twice the first time was only 62

so just to let you guys know i don't harbor anybad feelings toward sean b/c if the motor was bad i don't think it would have made it seven hours but it does suck b/c i did no mods to it within the 24 hrs on ownership so if he had for two more pulls he would be stuck with the blown motor and not me!

Anyways since i took a chance and got bit. on no less then the first day of having it the CA is out!! so i will be parting out the engine shortly either on ebay or on here. in its place will go a VH or VQ. I know that prob. kills you guys b/c this car has had the CA in it since before this forum was even stated but I have other plans.

I've already decide for the turbo kit, chiped ecu, super AFC2, wiring harness, injectors, MAF and IC... which is a complet from stock CA to Top mount 20g turbo set up that can do 400+ whp(on built motor) for only $3000 the only thing you'll need is a fuel pump.

If anyone wants the long block, transmission, HKS flywheel, clutch, shifter LMK

sorry for the long story post and i'm also sorry that a piece of this forums history is going to be parted.

later guysRob

Sounds like it leaned-out for some reason and you held that pedal for a while anyway. I know the CA and in order to get compression like that is usually engine management related issues which caused a dangerously lean condition along witha heavy foot and "voila" you have some cracked ringlands and possibly a slightly melted piston.

It seems as if your expectations was that of the SR and if this is so, failure was eminent. I know you're not going back with another CA, but for you and those who are reading, your tuning begins on the top end and not to achieve 30mpg worth of fuel efficiency. And BTW, I scoot around everso often in a 3??whp CA powered sentra and it laughs at me for winding it out 8700rpm in 4th gear which equates to a gang of mph. The key is tuning as we stress that around here on a regular basis. Good luck with the Q motors and sorry you didn't get the chance to enjoy a wonderful piece of nissan history.

Dang...what head work do u have to be turning 8700 RPM. Coming from an rsx-s i'd love to see those revs in my ca especially with my AEM and HX35

well boost_boy thats what surprised me. it wasn't a 300whp car more like 260-270. its was only running wastegate pressure of 8psi so i thought the engine would be good for a long time. I never asked how long he had the 20g set up on the car but i think he had it on there for a while. The SAFC was tuned for the GT28 at 18psi which the 20G even moving more CFMs at only 8psi it shouldn't have leaned out but i guess thats what happened. also i never came close to the limiter i shifted at 6900-7000 on both pulls.

the comment about 30+mpg is during no boost my 310whp SR had awsome af ratios during boost and still got 32mpg on the highway(t3/to4E). i love that about big turbos. maybe the daily 18psi on the GT28 for most of the 40k mile life of the engine had something to do with it. I dunno but I'm looking forward to NA bliss. I've always been a turbo lover but it think it time to try something new.

beans33170shipped should be a good price for it. its a HKS 9lbs fly wheel. i don't know how long it was used but the clutch has only been in for a couple of months.
