At Park Elementary school, Josh was enjoying his breakfast pastry when he decided to try and shape it into a mountain. Josh said, "It was already a rectangle and I just kept on biting it and biting it and tore off the top and it kinda looked like a gun but it wasn't." Josh takes full responsibly for trying to shape his breakfast pastry, but admits it was in innocent fun. He told FOX45, "All I was trying to do was turn it into a mountain but, it didn't look like a mountain really and it turned out to be a gun kinda." When his teacher saw the strawberry tart he knew he was in trouble, he recalls, "She was pretty mad…and I think I was in big trouble." Josh's dad received a phone call from the school saying that Josh has been suspended for two days because he took his breakfast pastry and fashioned it into a gun. Josh's dad was astounded to learn the school chose such a harsh punishment, even after no one was hurt. Late Friday afternoon a letter went home with students explaining the incident saying, "A student used food to make an inappropriate gesture."

THIS is part of the reason my kids are in private church school. Its not exspensive and the teacher are there because they want to be.

Adventist Education cost is $300 a month per kid, cheaper then daycare. If your a church member giving tithe you get a $100 a month subsidy. In Arizona there is a child tax credit that you can receive from someone unrelated to you. This year AZ is allowing corporations to make tax deductable contributions to private schools. I almost never have to pay a month of my kids tuition. If your kid is having trouble at school look at private church schools.

Gun shaped pop tart at my kids school would not have even been a note home unless it happened everyday. The school in this article is crazy.

We live on base at the moment, the school isn't bad and my middle boy, 5, is only in Kindergarten. So there hasn't been much damage yet. When we move at the end of the year, both of my boys will be in a private school of some sort.

As far as the story goes, I wouldn't shed a single tear of someone slowly lowered this kids teacher into a wood chipper.

Probably a good thing the kid didn't make a paper airplane in class, cause it might resemble a jet fighter, which has machine guns/missiles

Having someone close to me who works in schools for kids that age, I know that plenty of teachers get fired for similar acts of stupidity all the time (and don't make the news, incidentally).

But elementary school teachers are pretty stupid in general anyway. Many of them border on "thought police" level.

Hey, I'm adventist too!

Once I made a little sword out of clay in art class. I didn't get suspended or anything but I did get in trouble. Public schools have a lot of things that they can be blamed for, so they have to be on the edge of everything. At least thats my understanding.

I didn't do any adventist education actually, we couldn't really afford it for k-12. I know A LOT of people that are going to Southern University though. We should all get together for Saturday potluck and haystacks :rotfl

Its less of an issue in high school and more of an issue in elementary. In elementary school everyone is all "OMG MY KIDS OMG YOU BROKE MY KIDS" so I think really teachers are just watching their back

haystacks! :dblthumb: What year did you graduate HS? I'm 34 graduated HS 1996. The HS was exspensive 5k a year if I remember I worked Freshman-Senior year at a furniture factory to pay for part of it. As a result I can build my own furniture. The stand and hood for my 150 gallon saltwater fish tank I built. My kids toybox I built and my dogs house I built.

I'll have a HS kid in 5 years :ohno:
