Thanks! You and me both... if the weather cooperates I'll be at the dyno on Friday for a base tune and Englishtown Saturday for a full tune. I'm excited to see how it does!gs14racer wrote:Looks great,
Cant wait to see the times on the new setup.
It was really the only color that worked with the white valve covers. I thought about a wrinkle red, but looking at it now, I'm glad I went with gunmetal.Carl H wrote:nice, seems everyone likes the gunmetal plenum idea.not a huge fan of the silicone intake but meh if it works.
As Jerry said, its not really needed. At least not in a car that will see only track duty. To pull the plenum now, all I need to do is disconnect the Throttle Cable, TCS, FPR vacuum line, and all the bolts holding the upper plenum to the lower runners. Makes maintenance very simple.Raxephon wrote:No IACV?
Same here, I'm excited to finally get behind the wheel again.gs14racer wrote:Cant wait to see some track times. Judging from what youve posted they should help out a bit, i should have just bought them. My biggest complaint is the lack of top end, or more so how after 4000 rpm it just doesnt feel that strong, probably a result of the flat torque curve. I am working on so many projects right now since the s14 is done its kinda on the back burner. I may take a spare set of heads aside and get tthem done like yours. We'll see.
good luck this friday, what do you think maybe 11.5?
Well, without the IACV or the FIAV hooked up, the only thing that dictates idle air flow is the throttle plate. I basically opened it up a bit after deleting everything to get it to idle. Once it was warmed up I set the throttle stop screw to a position that kept the car around 900RPM. Now every time I start the car it idles there from the get-go. It still idles a little higher when cold from the idle start enrichment and cold timing adjustments, but it has no problems running at all once the temps are above 40C.Carl H wrote:im suprised it idles without the iacv to be honest, my rb20 hates life without it connected and it has relatively conservative 260* cams.should be awesome either way...makes me want to cam my vh and really make some serious power.
I'll be at the track almost every weekend this year.mexicanracer03 wrote:Looks good. Are you going to the track this year ??
Hey when every you want to get rid of the q45 LMK and I'll dive up, to take it out your hands.
Me too...what's up? I want to get a look at it!Mettler wrote:Pic links are broken for me
my question is how much would you sell the Z32 with the engine?Carl H wrote:how much would you seriously want for the z32 without the engine?
I'd sell the roller for 2k with stock wheels/tires/brakes. It would have a stock crossmember in it, I'd sell the modded one with the engine/trans setup.Carl H wrote:how much would you seriously want for the z32 without the engine?
Must have been my hosting service, they're working now... sorry!Mettler & qsiguy wrote:Pic links are broken for me
I would sell the car as it sits right now for 9k. That includes wheels/tires/big brakes/stereo/swap/everything...riu wrote:

Been wanting to do a slicktop VH project forever but I never got around to it.I dropped out of college and have been broke for a little bit but I finally got a decent job, just need to save up, get another z32 since mine is only a 2+2 and is in terrible shape, and get started, but the laziness in me wants to drive one now and not do the work, i also would love to just study how you did the swap so i can build my own down the road.
Honestly, I havn't driven it any farther than on/off of the trailer and up/down the driveway. I can tell you that the engine feels more alive and revs substantially faster than before.gs14racer wrote:So have you driven the car with the new setup yet, any impressions? how does it feel?
