Works great, but old news.BadQ45t wrote:That link doesn't work.
I want to see a new redesigned G50. Land Rover did it with the new Range Rover. They realized the bubble light one sucked. They used the 95-2001 chassis (My favorite) as a base for the new one. It looks similar, just modernized with more free flowing lines.elwesso wrote:I dont really care because it wont be as good as the G50 was in 1990. I always told myself that i'd never buy a new Infiniti if they didnt have a Q in the lineup.
It would be nice though.. one could have the ultimate nissan garage with a Q sitting next to a GT-R..
With the sucess and greatness of the M45 and the G37, I have more confidence of Infiniti actually making a car worth a damn than I did a couple years ago.
The 1995-2002 RR is only one generation back. The 2003-2008 RRs are identical minus a FEW cosmetic upgrades. Bubble light one? Huh?Haitian_King wrote:

The Q helped make Infiniti the marque that it is in the US. I mean, Japan stopped using the HG50 in 2002 and went to the F50. For a car to maintain such a distinctive profile (with minor differences here and there) for 13 years says something. Something along the lines of "G50's Are F***ING Awesome!"

Yes, you are right about the engine changes. I was talking cosmetically there is little different between the 2003-2005 and 2006+ (redisgned headlights) but they are the same generation (MK III).Mark Linkous wrote:Hello,There is a huge difference in the Mk.III (03-current). In the first few years, the RR used a BMW sourced V8. (M62) After purchased by Ford, 2005+uses the AJV8 from PAG partner Jaguar. BMW agreed to provide the M62 at first after completing the sale to Ford. Far beyond cosmetic. Jesda is right on about the RRS. Simply a re skinned LR3. Truly offensive to RR afficionados.Cheers,Mark

...When you were finding all those pictures you still didn't realize that you had the completely wrong information? eek. And I find the MK III RR to be beautiful. Also the P38 generation was from 95-02, not 01. I had an 02 and it was a P38.Haitian_King wrote:
No.
This is first Gen 1970-1994 -
Then the second gen (My favorite) 1995-2001 -
Third gen 2002-2007 (I hate this one) -
And now the new redesigned one for the 2008 model year (Looks like a modernized second gen. I wouldn't have liked it if it didn't bear that resemblance) -
So. The RR was redesigned for 2008 and it looks more like the 95-01 model. It has a more rounded look as opposed to the more rigid styling of the second gen. Compared to the third generation Range, the 4th incarnation has a sportier looking back. I love to see them on the street.
4th gen was crap. (My opinion. Tastes vary.) I had wanted to purchase a white 1996 Range Rover HSE with the caged lights and caged front. The day I was ready to go buy it, I called the dealer to make sure. he told me he had sold it that morning. (It was an auto autcion in Elizabeth, NJ) So, after searching online, I found the Q at an import dealer located about 15 minutes away. And here I am now.
When my dream lineup of automobiles is complete, it will consist of a G50 (90-93), BMW E39, Mercedes-Benz W140, and the second generation Range Rover. Preferably all in black.
What can I say? I was born in the 80's, but I've rejected that decade and fell in love with the 90's. The cars, music, fashions, even television shows.
Blah. I like the older one and I felt that the RRS bore a resmblance. Sue me.c_anderson117 wrote:And also how do you think the Range Rover Sport (or 4th gen as you mistakenly called it) looks like the 95-02 more than the 03+ RRs? Just curious, they tried to go for a more sporty appearance with the RR Sport hence the name. It's not even the same size as the 95-02s.
Wow. Really? I became drawn to the vehicle after my uncle purchased one. This is the same uncle that had the first Q45 I'd ever seen.Mark Linkous wrote:Hello,C Anderson, I agree about there being little cosmetic difference 03+. I too think the MK. III is the most attractive SUV going. Just wanted to point out the powertrain differences which are substantial. The P38 or MK.II is about as turdilicious as it gets. They fetch so little that I have often pondered getting one as a camping vehicle. Would never consider as a primary vehicle. Simply something to flog in the mud until it falls apart.Cheers,Mark
Half of me loves it, and the other half is afraid. It's a little (really) futuristic. I'm intrigued by the cyan and tan. Ordinarily, I'd never put those two colors together, but it looks strikingly attractive. The floor looks strange. Are there no OEM mats in the future? The wood gives quite the contrast to the interior. That glass ceiling is just "wow". I did like the idea of the car coming with official fragrances.MR.
