the FJ20 is a classic, they put those in Dimes all the type down in the Outback, I wouldn't mind one, they're good little engines, they don't get enough credit, although they did come without an intercooler from the factory, but that's some NICE throttle response :D

The DR30 turbo C FJ20 was the first intercooled turbo engine Nissan had, as far as the S12 FJ I dont think they had an intercooler.

The only good S12s are the ones that came with independent rear suspension. I belive only 86-88 turbo and 87-88 V-6 models came with the Indpt rear susp., and they cost as much as a s13 if not more in good condition.

i know there was a host of engines that came in the s12 chassis, but i wasnt really talking of the engines, just the rear suspension.

the turbo and V-6 models are the only desirable S12s IMO

i thought the CA18ET was available every year on the S12 in the states. and i know ALL the turbo and V6 S12s had ind. rear suspension. and the NA CA was the CA20E. if i remember correctly none of the S12s were intercooled from the factory

There's someone by my mom's work who has an S12 with the V-6, everytime I go by I think of stealing it.

i dont think it has to do with year more than it does with what countries got the FJ. Japan had it of course (s12 silvia) and i think australia too....

as for the suspension thing, that was just what i heard, i wasnt sure if it was true or not.
