As I´ve said before, I got a 94 Vert in USA and will ship it soon.I want to buy some parts and to ship in the container with the car.I don´t know what to get... Hard.

I bought Hatch door panels here to shave off the ugly seat belt towers and also a Tein coilover kit. Will buy a CA engine and swap it in before shipping as well.

I´m thinking about rims and tires (cheaper in USA) and maybe a body kit.

If you had a stock Vert, what would you buy first? What´s most important to make it nice angry looking?

Personally....

I think wheels are the biggest difference maker in the appearance of a car. Next would be a body kit.

Sportmax wheels are very popular now because they are inexpensive. They have those great 962's that come staggered with the nice deep dish in the back. I think they are less than $500 shipped. People will say they are "played out" here, but not in Sweden!

As for body kits.. depends what you like. I think the Origin:Select kits are really nice for the price.

just some ideas...

Great answers! I´ll try to find some pics of the Sportmax rims, sounds cool and not common here.

I really love the body kit we saw on that white Vert here a while ago, GP Sports? No wings on the sides or smily faces, just simple and nice looking.

Any other Vert parts? Maybe a new top? The rear window are brown/yellow.

Take your pick:

-Door panels-Aftermarket wheels + tires-New top-New carpet kit-Xenon front lip or a body kit-Q45 front brake conversion-Manual trans swap parts-Lowered springs + aftermarket struts-Front seats from an S14 or some Recaros/Sparcos-Red + clear tailllights-An entire S13 coupe for parts

I personally wouldn't swap a small displacement engine like a CA18 into a 3000+ lb car, but to each their own...

Good luck with receiving your car!

Got the red/white tail lights and an old car for parts, always good.

I think I´ll go CA18, got a lot of CA parts and it will give me 300+whp without any problems. Will have mini torque but the car should lose some weight with race seats and CA instead of KA?The KA is new to me and hard to find parts here, CA is stock mounted.

About the brakes, bolt on?

Thanks!

Cool, I just put the red and white tails on this weekend. One of the best visual mods for a coupe/vert, in my opinion. Makes the car look at least 5 years newer.

Quote »Will have mini torque but the car should lose some weight with race seats and CA instead of KA? The KA is new to me and hard to find parts here, CA is stock mounted.
That's cool if you can find CA parts easily. I was talking from a USA perspective...

Quote »About the brakes, bolt on?
You need 1990-1996 Q45 front calipers, clips, pads, and rotors. Everything bolts right up except the rotors will need to be redrilled for 4-lug. Even hooks into the stock S13 brake lines. If you are going with junker parts, try and get them off of a lower mileage 1990 Q45 - the parts were "higher performance" for that year only.

I'm doing the Q45 swap with rebuilt calipers, Brembo rotors, and Wagner Thermoquiet pads. I think it cost around $200 for all of the new/rebuilt parts.

Are you talking performance or looks. For looks I've always had a boner for Silvia verts.

depends on wut ur building the car for.

for drifting, 1st mods i would do are coilovers and a diff(assuming it's 5-speed already)

My opinion for the first mod on ANY car, assuming the mechanics are sound on the car first...

SUSPENSION.

Especially on a 12 year old car, probably never changed. At a MINIMUM I would buy stock replacement struts and some lowering springs, so this would only set you back about $350 or so.

cat-back exhaust. i'd reccomend ssautochrome - the exhaust is quality and inexpensive.

wheels and tires. i've got the gunmetal 962's but i think set of gold ones would look awesome if you put some gold flake in your paint. there are tons of wheels available besides sportmax, take a couple weeks to search for them and find something you love - not just like.

replace the rear window. you don't need to replace the whole top just for the window. you can buy the window itself and have it installed.

s13 (non vert) or s14 seats. s13 seats look fine with stock interior; but if you're going with the s14 seats, go the extra mile and get your front and rear seats reupholstered. for even more style points do the door panels, glove box and rear speaker covers to match.

5-speed swap. you're doing an engine swap too, so this should be a given.

coupe/hatch door swap. obviously, you're all ready on top of this.

oem lsd. definitely pick one of these up. unless you want to drift or drag race this car, you really don't need a $900 diff. the oem viscous diff can be had for around $200.

the car will definitely need a drop so some coilovers or a spring/strut combo will get that done. it looks like you've all ready got some coilovers so while you're at it, throw a front upper strut tower brace in your engine bay. if you're doing a ca swap, make sure you get the right bar - it's different between ka and ca equipped s13's.

electric fan. i know the ca has a belt driven fan (just like the ka) so free up some power by switching that out. i've read of some people using the electric fan(s) from an altima... i don't really recall. you can throw an s14 radiator in there - it's a cheap, simple upgrade.

body kit - much like wheels, there are a lot of options, spend a couple weeks searching and find something you love.

when it comes to style, it's hard to say, "hey this body kit and these wheels look awesome." because these modifications are mostly cosmetic and should reflect YOUR style, not ours. that's why i'm recomending that you spend some time to find stuff that you love - not just like - because you want to be happy with those mods.

as far as the ca swap i'm a ca18det fan myself and have a couple in my basement. don't listen to the haters who say that there isn't enough power from a small displacement engine. don't forget, this is a baby rb engine. they love boost and it's not hard to get 300-400 horsepower out of those things. since someone mentioned a front mount intercooler, i'll again recomend ssautochrome. they have ca-specific front mounts. i've heard that their intercooler kits are quality as well as inexpensive. a lot of people don't like ssautochrome because some of their parts are junk - that's honest truth. however, when it comes to exhaust and intercoolers, they have decent stuff. i think it's a good value for your money.

hit up the ca sub-forum to get some more ideas for engine upgrades.

good luck

Wow, great answers guys! Crazy...

I´m in love with Volk TE37 rims but will never afford them, any copies?

I already got a BMW transmission to go with the CA, faster to shift and can handle more abuse.I will stick with CA for a while, got a fully built waiting here.

Exhaust, hmm.. Is Megan ok? Can get them cheap. If not I´ll go with SSAC.The got 3" as well right?

No Silvia conversion, looks like an old Mazda. Like the frog eyes better, always down anyway.

I got a S14 rear axle, I think I´ll use it. Maybe BMW axle (disc type LSD) but later. The gear box is enough to start with.

What about bushings? Energy? RSR? Any thoughts?

Already go a new radiator from Volvo with electric fan, works really fine in S13 and will cool the engine twice as good. I also use the Volvo reservoir (sp?) to get rid of the cap in the radiator.

I want to build a fast street car, both for corners and straight.I think it´s possible with wide R-tires and RWD.

I've got a Megan exhaust and I love it!

I've got some pics hosted here if you want to see them... zerothread?id=199632

As you can see... I love Volks!

I like the idea of a lightweight modded CA engine in a 'vert... Plus, it helps to work with what you are familiar with, and if I remember correctly.. you've already built a few sick CA's.

I second the S14 seats idea that Dexter mentioned.. You have got to get new seats, either S14/S15/Skyline or aftermarket.. The stockers SUCK.. in my opinion at least..

Let's not misinterpret my point of view and call me a CA hater. I'm all for a built CA in a lighter car or "in the lands of plentiful CAs".

Nice car! Is that Volk´s? What model?

Yeah, I´m a CA guy, done a few but budget engines with polished stock rods and forged pistons. This one will cost a bit more and I´ll use a standalone with removed CAS.Also solid lifters, custom cams and some more internal candy.

I don´t like the s14 seats either, does S15 got better ones?

Thanks guys!

Yea, they bolt right in too. Only problem being that they are hard too find and expensive. Shipping would be ridiculous too.

They are Volk GT-PS15 seats are indeed much nicer than S14 seats... but as you might expect... also more expensive. I've heard that with some modification to the brackets, Toyota Celica (2001 and up) are fantastic seats for an S13. I'm planning to try that some day.

Does the S15 got bucket seats? More than S14? I thought about going race seats or Megan Sport seats, probably easier to find.Does the Celica seats have Toyota labels like the Civic Type-R? Found two on a junk yard but it said "Type R" on the head rest...

You can always do R32 Skyline seats, too. 3 bolt holes line up.
