i took my car to a shop yesterday and they called me this morning saying that the wiring was off, so for like $200 they fixed it all, and bled the clutch, im so excited i cant type. i pik it up around 2 today, and get to boost it home, or break it in for 500 miles, but itll still be fun. i have a sr...i have a sr....so tight. the wiring i followed from ht's site wasnt too clear or had some discrepencies, but they were a big help nonthe less. welp...see ya later

its so fun, although it sounds like a diesel truck turbo, i think cuz of the downpipe being the only piece of exhaust, and the bov, makes it sound that way. but its sick, i still have to put some things back on and find out why the ps isnt working, but its tight

Why do people keep trying to break in a motor that's already broken in?

You guys don't understand the concept of a break in. Once it's broken in once it can't be broken in again. Sure you should warm it up before you drive it and let the oil pressure stabilize, but a break in is totally unnecessary. The main reason you break in an engine is to seat the rings. After that's been done you can't do it again. The bearings are 'broken in' about as soon as you turn the motor over. After you establish a wear patern a break in isn't needed untill you change somthing out that requires a new wear pattern to be 'set'.

As far as a clutch breakin, I've heard ppl talk about doing it, but I never have. I talked to one of the guys at ACT 2 years ago and he told me that it was basically bull**** and other companies tell you to break it in so they have another 'out' for warrenty claims (oh you didn't break it in for 500 miles, sorry your on your own).

You shouldn't beat on it right away, but after the motor's proved that it will idle for 20 min without problems, and as soon as you rev it up through the gears slowly you can pretty much rip on it. Hell I know guys who break in NEW motors that way and they have had really good luck with it, and these arn't your backyard mechanics, my freind had the world's fastest top fuel drag bike for 12 years in a row before he retired to doing NASCAR motors.

that's my .02

My ACT clutch came with a piece of paper that said to break it in by going easy on it the first 500 miles. It said only their "race" clutches don't need any sort of break in.

i know a guy who swapped in a b20 in his civic and he didnt properly break it in, and he had major probs. i just want to let it all settle, the motor hasnt ran in god knows how long, and i would feel better about it if i took it easy, but its getting harder not to boost it, and ive given in a few times, its tight

you should break in a new motor the way you drive a car, so if you drive hard then drive the car hard, but as for a used motor im with Movingviolation240
