The basement apartment I just moved to is flooding. I thought I peed on the floor in my sleep or something when I climbed out of bed.Sometimes its good to be a renter.

That is all.

Won't all your stuff get ruined?

And even after the clean up and repair, won't the basement smell musty and gross?
I wasn't extremely worried this morning, but the land lady just called to tell me that she is probably going to be putting me up in a hotel because the water is creeping up and the sub pump failed. NOW I'm concerned and will be headed to Walmart to buy anything that I can to raise my bed, dressers, and desk.

I feel worse for her though; her whole finished basement (that just got finished) is going to have to be all redone.

Since you're in RI I'm gonna assume it's the epic rain up here and not a burst pipe or something. My Boss's inlaws have about 3 feet of water in their basement right now. They were about an inch and a half of water from losing their 56" TV. God I love living on top of a huge hill.

this rain needs to end. it's making me miserable at home. my father and i already figured out that we could paddle his canoe to work if we really wanted to. it actually sounds like a fun time, though

not down the street. we'd go down the quinnipiac river. some areas are normally too shallow and we'd have to exit the river and carry the canoe around one waterfall, but since the riverbed and surrounding wetlands are all flooded, we could easily do it.

The same thing happened to me last rain storm.I was out all day and night with my friends, I got home at around 11:30 ish and went In my basement and all I heard was squish, squish, squish. I didn't go to bed until 4 in the morning the next day I woke up at 10am and didn't stop working until 10pm and monday when I got home from school I had to take out all of the walls, carpet, furniture, ect. My basement is still flooding now but know one even bothers.

That was probably one of the worst weeks in my life.
