it seems that lots of people seem to have cold starting problems where the car idles poorly or possibly dies, i am one of them. looking at different posts on the forum most people attribute this to worn intake valves. however i just got my car back from a leakdown test where everything checked out perfectly yet i still have this problem. has anyone found anything else it could be? my plugs shouldnt be the problem (denso IK20's gapped at what they came at), i just had the timing and TPS checked, so what's left? the air regulator? anyone have any ideas?

Try changing the ECU coolant temp sensor, it sits just behind the thermostat housing.

For a quick test, try unplugging the temp sensor and try starting it from cold, if it starts and idles better then you know its no good.

I had that problem when my IAA valve wasn't reading metered air. I put a bung in front of the TB and it worked fine. I don't know what your IC pipes look like, but this could be an answer.
