the engine on my 1990 240sx has been knocking and drinking oil.....

for the past couple days my 1990 240sx has been knocking. so today i checked my oil and it was like completely gone so i put in about half a quart and it rode fine. my dad checked it out and said its only a matter time before something goes wrong. he thinks im about to throw a rod. can anyone give me some advice or help? it would be very helpful.

You can pick up a KA24de for about as cheap as a 1 armed hooker in harlem. These SR20 queers are tossing them out like theyre junk.

Go find a block somewhere quick (I just checked Craigslist in KCMO and there were 2) so check your local CL and pick it up.

It'll take one day to have the block checked over for tolerances. Once it checks out get OEM bearings and rings installed. (That's day 2 now)

On day 3 install the thing. That's a pretty cut and dry job IF you have the tools.

If you don't have the tools to do this job or the money to pay someone to do it then go ahead and sell me some of your aftermarket parts and ditch the car.

haha thankyou . there is a ka24de in georgia. and i live in SC so it wont be a problem but its 600 dollars. i mean is that a good price or what?

Depends... is it fresh? Ask the guy if the motor has been overhauled. If it has then I'd buy it and that'll save you time and the headache of tearing it apart and all.

I found a crappy motor here for $50 BUT it had a bent rod and needs everything replaced. That works for me because I personally want to upgrade everything. In your case it sounds like you're in a jam and need a quick solution.

yea and i also have a good friend of mine who says he will sell me his ka24de for 300 he says all it needs is new bearing. how much of a hassle would that be to get those put in? he says he would also put the engine in for me
