Pretty sure that Garrett sells a rebuild kit for the 2871. Call garrett and get that puppy rebuilt. I have that same turbo woth .86 exhaust housing and i love it. You might get a 1,000 turbo for 300 with the rebuild kit.

If you're not planning on buying brand new, you might as well go for the rebuild, that way you know its not smoked and it's as good as new!, plus it's a bit cheaper.

Rebuild, but before you do, send the housing to Liquid for some nice ceramic work.

An unbalanced turbo is no fun...

SERIOUSLY?!

you're a mod (dunno how that happened) and you're plugging a company you're affiliated with in someones thread who didn't even ask about powder/ceramic coating?

cool beans, bro-tron.

he doesnt NEED the housing coated. it looks FINE.

240 gen has pissed off most of the OG's to the point that none of them even post in here anymore. now we have oh-so-sweet "mods" that have nothing better to do than TROLL more than the noobs.

after a long day of work, this is not the type of thing i wanna find on a website that i use for educational purposes. thank god NICO doesnt charge for memberships.

other forums are worth the $10 premium membership. real info. real mods.

just saying.

and yeah, i derailed this thread a hair. it wasnt going anywhere.

OP, if you have to ask.... you shouldnt ask.

you got a 2871 for $100. rebuild, boost, win.

he got a gt2871.... isnt that a ball bearing turbo??? i think so!!! it would cost pretty much the same as buying a new turbo so dont bother just sell it to the next unfortunate soul
