When opening the door, the window goes down a bit and when the door is closed the window goes back up into its slot.

What happens if the battery dies out completely??

Hmm... good question. lol I think Infiniti has a safeguard against that. Surely they must've thought of if that ever happens. I have a feeling that they might have some kind of backup system for that.

I asked the same question in another thread.

The top isn't blocked by a hard metal piece, just a seal. So you can open and close the doors when the battery is dead. You just need to be careful closing the door I guess.

At least that's what I was told at the dealership.

Oh I see. Well that makes sense also, hehe.

Correct, and be careful in freezing weather. I owned a 350Z, same window feature, and in freezing temps the window would sometimes freeze in place. You just had to be careful shutting the door.

I was told by the dealer that you can safely open the door, but if you try to close it the seal could get screwed up. He informed me that you shouldn't try to close the door until you have jump started the car. Sounds like we are hearing different stories.

What will most likely happen is, you won't get a good seal initially.

In the case of freezing temperatures, you just have to wait until things warm up. This happened to me several times, I don't recall any long-term damage to the glass or rubber seal.

Hmmmmm very good question. I remember my old 03 g35 coupe doing the same thing. I sold it before I ever had a dead batt. but I'm pretty sure someone out there has and didn't have a problem.

Best thing to due with this rubber seal (and all rubber seals) is to keep them conditioned. This prevents the rubber from drying out and becoming pourous and cracking. It also prevents ice from forming on the rubber.

I use 303 Areospace. Good stuff.
