I got this from one of the regulars in the VH45DE forum, this basically in depth describes the VH45DE. I consider myself technical oriented and this is an absolutely brillant read! its about 20 pages.

Here is a link to the images in my gallery, I figured itd be better than posting the pictures one by one as it would eat bandwith.

If you have any sort of curiosity on how the VH45DE was conceived and have any inclination to how amazing it was that NISSAN was able to pull this thing off, I highly recommend you read it.

Basically, this articles proves how bad-A$$ the VH45DE is.

It is a good paper. I've converted all Wes' JPEGs to one PDF file. I can email it to you and you can post it on q45.org for everyone.

Close examination of the graphs is where the real meat is!

If any one can get me an original, I can scan it with better resolution into a downloadable Acrobat file.

A Great Read, just wish I could read the illustration notes also.

Regarding figure 1:

I agree, "very softy" ride quality is a luxury car staple.

great find, Wes! if in the clean-up, you or someone could post clear renditions of the variable intake valve timing plots/graphic that would be huge. the fsm has always left something to be desired on that topic imho.

we always knew the VH45DE had a sweet windout note, now there is science behind it!!

It's no VK45 though. All kidding aside, I was first somewhat spurious of the VH45 being the better mill discussion. The more I read the more I agree witcha. In M45land, not to much discussion given we all have more or less, the same engine. Only oil consumption questions and the absolute lack of an aftermarket here. Our carbon footprint is better though CheersMark Linkous
