it's so sad to me, it's like killing a unicorn. (high five to those who know where that's from) but i have to do it.

yesterday my transmission broke...can't go in reverse/lots of grunts and smells of burnt rubber.. they're telling me it's about $2200 to fix.. but i honestly don't have that much money. ( got laid off a couple months ago )

so i'm going to have to abandon my q45, (after the thousands of dollars i've poured into it trying to restore it)

i just wanted to say that this forum was/has been very helpful to me while i've owned this car. almost every problem i've had, was tackled somewhere in this forum.

i really don't know what i'm going to do with my Q, perhaps keep it until I have enough money to fix it, but i don't know. if i decide to get rid of it, i'll be sure to post something about it here. lots of good parts..

Try Dsagers he has a 1990 Q45 don't know how man miles though:

1994 Infiniti Q45 Again Unknown miles:

1993 Q45 with 34K miles:

zer...miles

Remmber you will need the TCU from a 1993 if you get the 19901-1993 transmission.

I would put a five speed in it as its cheaper in the long run.

Someone you know is knowledgeable enough/competent enough to assist you with a transmission swap. It's really not that difficult.

Even in a driveway, WELL lifted, it can be done. A transmission and fluid will run you less than 1k for junkyard unit, or maybe one here on the forums.

Don't give up so soon if you love the car.
